I have been living in Allen for years. I have always shopped at this store. I haven't been out in public lately but the first time I did I got harassed and followed in the clearance section. Yes, I'm black but all black people don't steal. I have several companies I own and I don't have to work for anyone. While this underpaid Tom Thumb worker following behind my husband and I. My husband is LTC in the military and fights hard to protect this country just to be followed and harassed. I make your salary 4 times while you are following me around the damn clearance section. I repeat ALL BLACK PEOPLE DON'T STEAL.

CHECK YOUR PRODUCE BEFORE YOU BUY!! I bought a 3 pack of onions (the packaging was orange mesh so it was hard to see the onions through it) and when I got home and opened it, all 3 onions were INFESTED with mold and bugs. Literally rotten so bad, I couldn't believe my eyes. I also bought garlic from here and it looks like it's going bad already (I bought both things today.) Do not buy produce here, or anything for that matter. You never know what other rotten things are on the shelves. No thank you.

Forgot a bag of groceries at the store. When I went back and asked if anyone had turned in the bag two different people were unwilling to go behind the customer service counter and check.

I came in after 8pm yesterday. A guy named ashy or ash very rude. I asked him to get me change for a $50 he said I cant do that anymore all my registers are closed you can only get money out of the self checkout. when you check your self out when it asks for cash back that's it. I asked can I talk to your manager he said I am the manager. very rude he didn't have a name tag that said manager on it. He was lazy he didn't wanna give change or break my $50 he was on his phone.

I actually like the store. It's clean. It has the items I can never find at other stores. A good bakery. I do not like the fact there's only self check out. While in the store a few minutes ago an employee literally stood and watched me scan every single item. Which he wouldn't have had to do if the cashier job wasn't taken from someone. I'm black also so maybe that's why he watched me do intently. Pretty sure I make more money than he does but welp

This review is for the Single plain Glazed donut only!I stopped by the store to get my limit of one Brisket on sale for $1.99/ lb. That's free meat. When walking in I spotted the donuts. Earlier I had stopped at a donut shop to continue my search for the perfect single bite glazed donut. They were closed so,when this door opened,I walked through it.As a general rule I'm not a fan of grocery store bakeries. This one used to have fantastic single slices of chocolate cake until recently. I don't think I've ever tried the donuts until today.Wow! I was really surprised how good it was. Now,consider we are way past the morning hour when they're freshest at 11am.The glaze was absolutely esthetically perfect. Slightly larger than your typical glazed donut. Now for the SBT( single bite Test). #4 in a series of assessments searching for the best plain glazed. Grading scale, bad to good 1-10.At 7 this is the best one yet. Almost instantly upon bitting into it,I was met with more resistance than expected. Then I remembered,I like a little denser donut. I think it comes from being around coastlines where donuts are usually a little heavier to prevent the fast drying out, stale process that comes with salt air, heat, humidity.Let me just say, this plain glazed is the best I've had so far and the cheapest. 80 cents with my store discount. That's the right price in my book.I've paid as much as $1.89 other places. If I still had kids at home or other donut needs this would be my regular stop.Plain Glazed Donut 7

One of the managers went absolutely above and beyond for me today. My car battery died and I called to see if I could leave my car parked there until the towing company came, he tried to jump my car but it didn't work. It was really hot outside and he was very kind and patient. I've been coming to this location for about 5 years now & have always had pleasant interactions with the employees. The store itself is very clean and always has what I need.

Although I have been living here in Allen for many years I never went to this grocery store. I have been to all other neighboring grocery stores but when I talk to neighbor and friends about their favorite and least favorite Tom Thumb would come up as something ... yeah don't expect high quality. But I was curious and didn't feel like driving far to get some groceries. First I'm impressed how they use self check out grocery cart. Latest technology as soon as you put your grocery in, it scans and shows your items on a screen. Easy for self check out. They don't have any cashiers. Everything is self check out which is cost efficient and most staff/employee are on the floor (stacking, moving stuff). Just one big tip when you come here. Check the expiration dates on their products. I got some sausages and the expiration date was already passed. I'm glad I checked before making dinner although I should have done it at the grocery stores. But I have never been to a store where I had to check if the product I'm purchasing is actually pass their expiration date. Then I found that the tomatoes that I bought where moldy inside their box. (Never happened before when I purchase them at other stores). When I checked out my items the prices at Tom Thumb are fairly the same as other grocery stores and I love that they have a great words selection of everything. But don't think I'll ever come back. As my other to go stores just provide way better customer service, quality of products and prices.

I like this store. The selection is great, and the workers in the meat department are really nice and helpful. I don't understand the bad reviews. Some of the customers who wrote those reviews about having to do their own bagging are plain lazy and spoiled.

I ordered a cake to be picked up on Saturday the 12th. It was white layers and I went in to order it with strawberry filling when I was placing the order with the very sweet and helpful lady I saw that they also put lemon as the filling The person I was ordering it for loves lemon!! The frosting was cream cheese. When I went to pickIt up it looked great. I got so many compliments on this cake. My daughter in love was nit happy in the store when ordering that I got lemon but as of now she has eaten several pieces and tells me how good it is. I am very pleased with my choice to go to Tom Thumb. Thank you bakery ladies for doing such a great job for me

There are no longer any cashiers in this store. I didn’t know I was hired to check out my own groceries and fight the scanning machine. I will not be shopping at a Tom Thumb going forward.
