I should have known better. Do NOT order a cake from this bakery. I would give them zero stars if this was an option. I ordered a cake online for a graduation party. I wasn’t able to confirm by phone whether it was ready so I had to go into the store. The lights were off and I had to look for an employee. The cake wasn’t done and clearly wasn’t going to be done the day it was promised so I bought cupcakes instead. The cake was paid for so I asked them to call me the next day as soon as it was ready. By 5pm today, no one has called. The order online still says preparing. I tried to call to find out a status. I literally tried every department in the store, including the pharmacy and no one answers the phone. The bakery rings a dozen times then disconnects with a busy signal. I tried to chat with customer service with no success. I finally called an 800 # with online orders. The customer service rep with online orders attempted to contact the store as well, with no success. How can a store this big just not answer phones in any department??? Seriously, this is unacceptable even for Walmart. She couldn’t really help other than canceling my order for me so I could get a refund. She also said she would send a message to the store manager since no one answers to the store phones. On top of this irritation, the bakery employee I met yesterday was snarky and smirking at me while I was talking to her. I will refrain from posting her name. Apparently she was the only bakery employee that showed up and she doesn’t do cakes. Fine. Not her fault, but she could have called me to let me know the cake would not be done so I could make other arrangements. She offered no apology for the inconvenience, could not provide an estimated time frame that I might be able to get the cake I already paid for, and clearly did not care. Very poor customer service skills. At one point she started arguing with me because I asked to speak to someone else since she couldn’t answer any of my questions. Won’t make this mistake again. Also, I miss the cashiers and the exit receipt checker at this store. Most of them were really nice. One of the best things about Walmart has now been replaced with machines. It’s sad.
