We were are staying in a cute cabin with a garden full of birds and pretty flowers. And while check-in is in another hotel a mile away, the front door lock needs a manual (we actually had to call to get help) and the freight trains are honking their horns at night (they supply earplugs), I recommend staying at the Maverick Hotel just for the smell of the sheets.

Great stay and happy we snagged a last minute reservation for one night. We would definitely have stayed longer if they had availability. Extremely clean, charming and provided everything we needed. The entry patio to our room really made you feel like you were in Alpine, TX! The Lobby and guest kitchen behind it was well stocked with area information and coffee. There was also a small coffee pot in the room. Microwave and ice were in the lobby kitchen. We arrived late at night and left out early the next morning so we actually never saw a single staff member but it didn’t hinder our stay in any way. Will stay here again for sure!

Nestled on the edge of town, Maverick Inn is a quant and cute little place to stay. We originally were going to stay at the sister hotel (Holland) in the center of town but the pool is located at the Maverick and didn't want to drive back and forth, however we ended up not needing the pool. We got a room with a garden tub, however the head being high and not angled, makes for a splash around the tub, so we had to ask for extra towels, probably wouldn't get a tub when we stay next. Staff is extremely nice and helpful and very accessible. Even though it got down to 40 at night, the heater wasn't needed due to how well insulated the rooms are.

My granddaughter and I had an amazing experience at the Maverick Inn. Our room was absolutely beautiful, very clean, comfortable, relaxing and very welcoming. Its sister property, the Holland Hotel, had everything accessible to us upon arrival. We will definitely stay at the Maverick Inn next time we visit Alpine. Thank you Maverick Inn and Holland Hotel staff.

The stay was good enough, but there are some real issues that keep me from going any higher with ratings. The door to the room was terrible, it has a full glass front and blinds for privacy. The problem is that the blinds have been badly damaged, so the only way to have privacy is to hang a sheet or something over it. There are also spotlights outside the door that shine in the room all night. The bed and furniture in the room are very worn and uncomfortable. Otherwise the stay was good and the price was reasonable so I guess you get what you pay for.

For this traveler with a ramblin' soul, The Maverick Inn was a place where time stretches like a two-lane highway. Checking in at the sister hotel only added to the charm, its elegant lobby like a jewel of the high desert. The only clock I used during my stay was the West Texas sun, the birds in the morning, and the star-sprinkled skies at night.

Location and service were good. We chose this hotel above others for the breakfast mentioned online but it was just a granola bar and apple :( as other guests have mentioned, the doors are a little old and require work to lock but the room did not feel unsafe nor was the noise any issue. Bed and room were clean but the shower had hairs in it. For the price, would not stay again.
