These guys are almost the definition of perfect! As always especially with veterinarian’s there is the … the cost. Now I don’t think they are too high but for some who can’t afford it it can feel outrageous so maybe vets have to find a way to help the ones in the community who just can’t afford those prices.

I was extremely disappointed with my service. I brought in my two month old rescue kitten and was told that they cannot tell me what was wrong with her. Charge me a ridiculous amount of money for no information and asked another vet to determine what was wrong. I received a call the next day saying that the other Vet had told her what was wrong and I would need to come in for surgery. With my kitten being so small surgery is a huge risk. I decided to get the opinion of another Vet. They were able to treat her without surgery and she is fine now. I will not be bringing my animals back. My family has always love Dr. Kessel and the work he is done, but Dr. West just is not the same.

Today I brought my two male German shepherds in for a check up and update on vaccinations. I am extremely particular about how my boys are treated and cared for, one is my VA service dog and the other is a new pup.
I was very pleased with the entire experience! The ladies were patient and kind to both me and my boys. Both were updated on their vaccinations while one vet tech distracted with a tasty treat. They were able to see and treat both at the same time, which is a huge convenience for me. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to both me and my boys. I’ve fired several Veterinarians in the past for the simple fact that they lack empathy. Not this team!!
That made sure to treat me and my dogs with care, consideration and respect!

I tried getting help and was refused help it shouldn't matter if you don't have any money at time of service just because they don't have a payment plan so now my cats is dying and I tried getting help and was turned away

Chaotic open office; NO privacy. This was the worst vet visit I’ve ever had. You and your pet do not get a private room to settle in. You and your pet are on a table in front of the whole staff and all the other patients, causing unnecessary distress. My cat saw and heard EVERYTHING happening to the other pets, so he was shaking and shivering and feared for his life. My cat did not feel safe. At other vets, he is the best boy and gets so many compliments, but this was the first time he lunged at the vet. Everyone was watching and there was so much chaotic energy all around; so many moving parts and strangers and distractions. My cat bit me hard in front of everyone and drew blood and he never bites me. I was so utterly embarrassed and wanted to get my cat out of there immediately. I’m never going back, and next time I’m finding a vet office with private rooms so my cat can get comfortable and feel safe. The people were nice, but the open office style provides absolutely no comfort for me or my cat. Right as I was leaving, some disgruntled person came in yelling at the staff, right in front of the table where pets are being seen. How nerve-wracking. All other vets I’ve been to were calm and confident when handling cats, but not this one.

I can not thank Dr. Kessel, Hailey, and the rest of the staff for all their kindness when I had to put my sweet Dixie girl down last Tuesday. They have been the only vet to treat Dixie over her 15 yrs. Highly recommend them for your vet needs.

All around Amazing Vet. Our regular Vet is located in Rusk and wouldn't you know it the only time we had need of an emergency visit (a snake or brown recluse spider bite to the face of our 6 month old Boxer) he was out in the field for an on-site call. His office put us in touch with Dr. Kessel and he answered the phone himself and told me to bring our Boxer in immediately. Upon arrival Dr. Kessel came right out and determined she needed to be treated immediately and politely asked his customers in the waiting room if she could be moved ahead of them for care to which they gladly allowed. The good Dr knew exactly how to treat our girl and within 30 minutes we were on the way home for recovery. Glad to report our girl "Stormie" is responding to treatment well and will hopefully make a full recovery. Amazing response and action from everyone at Kessel Vet. Clinic. Especially amazing when considering we weren't "normal" patients of theirs. Thanks again!!!
