The price per gallon of AmeriGas propane is about double what I now pay with another company. Before switching to the new company, I called AmeriGas corporate, requesting that they change their price to better reflect the going price in my area. They refused.
Also, during the switch, we discovered that the old AmeriGas tank at my house, which was actually making plenty of contact with the ground, had lots of rust on its bottom and propane leaks. AmeriGas had not been maintaining it. I pointed this out to the AmeriGas tech who picked up the tank. He said, and wrote on the invoice that he gave me, that he would not charge me to pick up the tank. Later, I received a bill from AmeriGas and a notice from a collection agency, saying that I owed the tank pickup service fee. I sent to the agency a picture of the invoice with the tech's note, plus pictures of the rust on the bottom of the tank. I have not heard back from the agency, so I assume that they made the correction in their system, rightfully, that I do not owe the pickup service fee.
AmeriGas appears to me to claim high quality (and their techs actually are knowledgeable and friendly), but I wish I moved away from them much sooner. I would not recommend them at all.

Order a delivery, No one tells you need to be there, so they cancel. Then you reschedule but they cant give you a date for you to take off work. When you call even the local number you get a call center on the other side of the world. I have been with this company for 2 years now and will definitely be switching companies. If you are looking for a propane Company in the alvin \ Santa fe area look at HOPS Propane in santa fe local owned and operated.

Worst propane company. When they were local, they were a good company. Today they have lost the honest, ethical core values that make companies good. I have tried many times to let them get better and I realy wanted them to, but I can't do it anymore. Recently i ordered propane and they failed to deliver it twice. Once due to dogs in the yard, although they have my phone number and are supposed to call first. The second time was due to lock gate, although they have the code to the gate and my number. I can't make this up. ?. I called customer service and they blamed it on the last rep I spoke with.
I hung up called PICO propane and replaced my tank and service.

Terrible, terrible, terrible company, if you can go somewhere else please go somewhere. They don't try to resolve any issues whatsoever.

Worst experience ever. Lied about the cost. Lied about waiving costs because they Lied. Practically a bunch of con artists. The support is a bunch of rude people too. They act brave over the phone. Do not recommend, at all. Go with someone else.

I signed up with amerigas for the first time. I was told that someone had to be there for the first time fill up. Waited to be contacted by company to setup appt and never got contacted. They came and filled up the tank. I called when I received a paper bill when I signed up for paperless billing. The representative was so rude to me that I finally hung up the phone. I am not impressed with your customer service at all. I don’t know if y’all ever performed the necessary test on the tank when y’all filled it up. Which is what I was trying to explain to the guy in the phone but he basically acted like I was stupid and asked what the problem was. Clearly he was having a bad day. But I don’t appreciate being talked to the way he talked to me after I was trying to find out if they did all the necessary tasks since we were not present when the job was performed.

I was told that it would be guaranteed that I would never run out of propane if I was on the "auto fill program". I ran out (again)!! I called and the customer service rep blamed me because i did not keep the gauge on the online website updated. I have a meter installed and it updates automatically to Amerigas. So much for a guarantee!!!! They don't seem to care about customers at all.
