I will never rent from these people again. After a long flight I stil had to wait for 20 minutes at the counter because there was no one there. When they finally got there they sent me to a car covered in bird poop and the passenger window had spit all over it. Threw my entire day off and made me late. I do not recommend this car rental place.

Had a horrible experience here with an employee, Tess, who never gave me my final total but proceeded to run my card. This is problematic in itself because it opens opportunities for additional charges or amenities you didn’t specifically request for to be added. I only use this card for rentals and flights, and my account reflected the exact amount proposed to me when booking online. I did add additional insurance, but at no point did Tess mention the difference this would add to me total. When Tess ran my card, it declined, even though the difference was $20 and could have been easily transferred beforehand had I known. It was clear that Tess is not in the business of customer service or problem solving, and did everything she could to not get me into a car. Avis is extremely unprofessional and I witnessed this firsthand by how they talk about other customers at the counter while I was standing present. There is a reason there is a line at the other rental services and not there.

If I could give 0 stars, I totally would. They blame customers for managers telling customers misinformation. Do not rent from AVIS. They lie and always take your money. I even had to go and purchase a car seat for my child. They didn’t even give me one!

Was having a bad day and, instead of making it worse, the desk agent helped make it better. Will rent from this Avis whenever passing through Amarillo.

As AVIS preferred customer past 9 years, I appreciated to Mr. Joe and his front desk officer who helped during the an emergency situation for us on the way near Avis, Amarillo Airport.
We took 2 Passenger Van's from Houston and started 10 days vacation to Colorado along with 4 families and kids. One of the Van started vobbling and bi safety to drive limited 45mph. We called Nearby and reached Avis Amarillo Airport office. The front desk officer listened our problem. However, they don't deal with the passenger Van at this center. But Mr.Joe quickly came to office and he arranged one in 30 mins.
During his office closure, he stayed more than 1 hour, identified Van, washed, cleaned inside the Van and gave us. Thanks to Avis Management.

Had everything reserved online. I read about card payments and said online as long as it has a VISA or MasterCard print on the debit card it will be valid. At the counter they showed me the paper for cashapp, Venmo, etc.. then I said okay I can transfer to my Navy Fed account and then she said I failed a soft credit check which it did not mention online and I said I can pay the deposit and still no. Just FYI. National Rental although got me a car in under 5 minutes with no deposit or credit check or extra fees :)

I have been charged more than 2700$ when initially, when booking, it was supposed to be around 1500$ so that is quite a important difference.
I gave the car back in time, clean, full tank and still I am charged 90$ and I don’t know why.
Impossible to call cause nobody answering.
I would like this comment to be seen by the Avis Amarillo Airport team to find a way to talk to them and get a refund.

AVIS / Payless Car Rental are the absolute RUDEST rental car agency around. Their customer service is absolutely abysmal, and it's frankly amazing they are still in business except for the fact they exist inside the airport. If negative options were a choice they would receive it. Avoid this place like the plague and go somewhere else outside of the airport.

Very nice and understandable ladies. Helped me out and they let me choose from 2 different vehicles that would accommodate myself and my 15 yr old. Awesome I just love Avis. I40 West Amarillo Texas

Priscilla at the Lubbock, TX Avis in the airport is an amazing person. She delivers phenomenal customer service and care. I’m grateful she was working when my trip experienced an unexpected hurdle. I could have broke down but her helpfulness kept me in track and not stressed.

Picked up rental in Amarillo airport and it had dents all over it and bumper almost coming off so when we got to Dallas we went to avis at airport and exchanged it with no problems

These guys stole from me. I returned my vehicle thirty minutes early. They billed me a two hour late fee. They do not ever pick up their phone. Their corporate customer service is completely inept - you cannot reach anyone who can help you on the phone, and they give you the run around via email. I have photographic evidence with a date and location stamp showing this was returned on time, and I still am having difficulty getting this refunded. There is a word for this: fraud.
