Quit SELLING my info to third parties! Keep receiving junk extended warranty mail for the vehicle purchased at CarMax. Also, took way too long to buy the car, especially since we paid cash.

I’ve purchased two vehicles from the carMax amarillo location. Most recently Jacob and the manager, Kienan were so helpful. After purchase Kienan has gone above and beyond to ensure my wife and I have been taken care of and we are beyond satisfied.
CarMax beats your regular back and forth dealer Any day and we will be back when we have need of another vehicle! Thank you CarMax of Amarillo for being you and taking such great care of us!!

Do not recommend this Carmax! They say “no hassle” and it definitely hasn’t been hassle free. Do not go here! Go to an actual dealership with people who know what they are doing!

Poor service on everything scamming us for nearly 3000 bucks and still not able to get our vehicle they also keep putting off saying waiting on oayment to be verified everytime we come in

Do not purchase a vehicle from this dealership!
While the online and over the phone process of trading in and purchasing a vehicle may be smooth and seemingly easy, I would not recommend this dealership.
The vehicle I purchased had had the error codes removed and alterations put into place to hide a $3000 DPF and exhaust system replacement that was required for the diesel. No error codes.. I was on my way up to Colorado from Texas to get a camper I had stored when the error code suddenly appeared. In addition, i paid to have permanent plates sent to me. Carmax could not even have these be sent in time before the temps expired. After speaking to a very polite employee in their office. They are polite and will sell anything. New meaning to used car sales people.. ;-) He informed me that I would have to take care of it myself. Wondering what the charges for tags that was built into the financing was for now?? They registered the vehicle in a different county than where i need to get plates.. What an amazing lack of accountability or taking care of issues on their part!!! In short or long, do not purchase from these crooks. They want to sell fast, profit and leave the buyer in a lurch.. I had purchased 3 vehicles in Colorado from Carmax in the past with no issues. Not sure if this is just a texas thing, but be warned!

Amarillo Carmax is absolutely the worse dealership I have ever dealt with. The employees or sales associates know nothing about vehicles or how to treat customers. I paid for a transfer to come (2weeks) later it arrives on a Friday evening 5-6pm. I'm called and can come drive it. I had talked to them and was told I could only test drive 20 minutes. I told them I wanted more time so I waited and they allowed a 24 hour. I had the vehicle from 7pm to 3pm.
I showed up for the appointment at 3 the following day and told them I would like a mechanic to check the engine before I purchased and they completely told me I had to buy it first and they wouldn't hold the vehicle til Monday. I had to get sales manager to approve. So, I schedule appointment for Monday at noon. I get there, the vehicle is still dirty inside and out (from the transfer and storage i guess) and the 2 repairs were not fixed. No call, to say that and reschedule. They wasted my time and money! $1099.00 dollar lesson and without a vehicle for 4 weeks!

Within 3 days of having the car, I had to replace both key fob batteries, the oil was low, and there was no owner’s manual- they pretty much said sorry about your luck. I won’t do business with them again.
