Don’t use Cheryl Kirk at Amarillo’s 45th and Bell location. She LOST documents, used racist language repeatedly and we heard from friends AFTER we left the office that they had overheard Cheryl telling other agents that we were just “looking for a discount and trying to say she had done things wrong!” She did the return correctly, but the amount owed was several thousand dollars. We deserve to have trusted advisor look over the return before filing to ensure that Cheryl did not make yet another mistake. We had to go back MULTIPLE times, and FINALLY, thank God, Ruth and Maribeth got it straightened out. Just so we’re clear, while we were shocked that the tax prep had gone up for our initial return, and did ask if there were coupons available, we NEVER asked for a discount from Cheryl, NOR anyone else in that office for the second return we filed for our daughter. If we EVER use H&R Block again, it will ONLY be with Ruth or Maribeth. Cheryl’s incompetence is outpaced ONLY by her arrogance and racism.

Every single one of the staff were kind and so sweet and attentive to us and our kids. We got our taxes done quickly and all of the questions we had were answered . We will definitely be returning to this location next year.

I wouldn’t even give H&R Block a star.My initial ordinary of the street tax woman quit and left before I filed. 2nd lady was MIA and then the third lady told filed and nothing. I paid over 1000.00 to never get a phone call back or anything. Lies lies lies. I’m surprised my taxes were filed. Unorganized…. Find yourself an actual tax accountant.

HR block is supposed to do a free second look on tax returns, but apparently this locations district manager does not honor that or care about future clients. My husband and I were turned away because they had paying clients and didn't have time to do the second look. We just moved to Amarillo and had used a tax professional before and had been clients of his for years, but since moving obviously could not use his services anymore. We wanted to have the second look done to be sure we were taken care of and taken seriously.... They will never get our business now and we will not be recommending this location to others. Terrible business practices. Shame on the district manager.
