Eddy is 100% the best mechanic in Amarillo!! He is honest and so so giving. I have witnessed so many good deeds done by him. Not to mention on Wednesday’s he has “Ladies Day” which entails a $5 discount on oil changes to show his appreciation for all the women out there! If you don’t know where to get your oil changed, battery replaced, or any other auto work done; this your place! Been taking my car here since I got my license and have nothing but good things to say:)

Started taking my car here a few years ago and wouldn’t go anywhere else! The owner is very honest and they know what they’re doing. Not only have I found them to be the cheapest oil change place in town, but they get you in and out quickly. 100% recommend these guys for any/all car needs!

🚨 WARNING: Do Not Trust Kwick Start! 🚨
I took my car to Kwick Start on December 26th due to engine trouble, and it has been nothing but a nightmare since. If you value honesty, transparency, and competent service—STAY AWAY from this shop!
🚗 Broken Promises & Endless Delays
After diagnosing my car, Eddie told me my engine needed to be replaced. He quoted me $3,200 for an engine with only 20K miles, and I gave him the green light to proceed. That’s where the lies began.
First, he never ordered the engine because he claimed he was “waiting for my approval” (which I had already given). Then, week after week, the engine was supposedly in a different city—Wichita Falls, Dallas, Little Rock—always with a new excuse. Every time I called for an update, I got vague responses, false promises, and more delays.
🛑 Bait-and-Switch Engine Swap
Finally, after a month of waiting, I picked up my car on January 27th, only to find out:
✅ I was charged for an engine with 20K miles
❌ But they couldn’t prove that’s what they installed
❌ Eddie kept changing his story—first the engine had 67K miles, then 65K, then “60-something”
❌ He had zero documentation of the installed engine’s mileage or serial number
I even called the salvage yard that allegedly supplied the engine, but they wouldn’t tell me anything because Eddie was the one who bought it.
🚨 Suspicious Engine Issues & Scamming Customers
From the moment I drove off, the car felt worse than before:
🔴 Grinding noises
🔴 Struggles with acceleration
🔴 Overheating smells
🔴 Burning oil
🔴 White smoke—the same issue that caused my original engine to fail
When I took it back, Eddie barely looked at it, claimed it was “perfect,” and dismissed all my concerns. When I pushed for answers, he hung up on me!
⚠️ Ladies, Beware!
If you’re a woman, prepare to be talked down to, dismissed, and treated like you don’t know anything about cars. Eddie refused to give me straight answers, avoided my questions, and treated me like I was stupid for wanting proof of the work done.
💰 The Final Cost of Kwick Start’s Lies
• $3,200 for an engine that I can’t verify
• $120 in extra fees just to make my payment
• A car that still doesn’t run right and is now at the dealership for further repairs
❌ FINAL WARNING: AVOID THIS SHOP!
I wouldn’t trust these guys to change my windshield wipers, let alone replace an engine. If you must use them, demand documentation and watch the entire repair process yourself—otherwise, you might get scammed just like I did.

They didn't put my fill cap back on and the entire engine bay of my car had oil in it. Rav4. This was my second time using this facility and will be my last.

Decent place, was looking for Kwik Kar which was informed they closed. Guy gave directions to place that took over the company, had I stayed there I give 3 stars due to lack of seating and overcrowded.
