The car I received was very clean, in the right category of what I was renting. Easy to pick up, drop off and I even extended it a week and that was very easy to do. Great gas mileage, Nissan Altima.

Beware of "no miles included" rental -- I have been doing Avis car rentals for over two years on a regular basis, on average once per month, around Houston, sometimes in Michigan, and sometimes near Washington DC. Until my rental on July 18-19 for a one-way rental from Boston Logan Airport to Washington DC Reagon Airport, I have always had rentals with unlimited mileage included in the base rate, and I put very little mileage on them. When I booked this one-way rental on May 9, 2023, I got an estimate that looks very reasonable, with base rate $30 x 2 days plus tax and fees. I also applied an Avis coupon that took off the two day base rental fees. Avis of course knows it's a one way rental, and in prints that do not stand out said " Mileage: No miles Included. Additional Mileage Charge: 0.25 / miles" but also gave an estimate of "$33.89" for the base rate plus fees and taxes then minus the two day base rate coupon. I must have misplaced my trust in Avis and thought that Avis would not engage in any underhanded practice of giving me a misleading quote while knowing that by the "no miles included" methodology, the fee "estimate" cannot be that low. That low estimate seemed to be designed to prevent me from booking with other car rentals two months in advance had I been given the real estimate (which Avis must have known all along). Come several hours before the car check-out time in July 18, 2023 I got another estimate in the Avis app saying that NOW the estimate is $162 including the mileage estimate. At that time there was no way I could cancel the rental and find another rental car. A nice "gotch-ya." Again I just suspect that this could not be the first time Avis has been doing things like this to a customer. Instead of two days, I only drove for one day and returned it after one day, and upon returning the car, I found, to my surprise again, that the "two-day base rate" coupon was not applied at all (and I was charged the two-day base rate, PLUS the per mile charges for the 1-way rental). I DEMAND that Avis apply the "two-day base rate" coupon, and return the overcharge to me. I was just so disappointed of the quite sneaky practice Avis applied to a very long term rental customer. All should read very carefully all the fine prints in an Avis "estimate" as they could be very misleading, by design or otherwise.

We have been renting with Avis for tye last couple of years...we've never had any issues until this last time..he van was completely disgusting on the inside, our pick up time was at 1:30 and that's when we arrived and the lady at the desk did say it wasn't clean but also didn't know when it was going to be cleaned. So we just left and cleaned it our selves.

Extremely disappointed in Avis. Arrived at the location at 7:45am for my 8am reservation. Was told the worker was at a hanger helping an incoming flight (I understand this happens.) finally received help at the desk around 8:45am an hour after arrived. There was a detailing employee there that wanted to help me but couldn’t because they wouldn’t train him to do so. When contacting the manager to recommend possibly cross training him for such occasions she stated it only made sense to me and no one else. (Even through apparently both employees had recommended either that or that the manager cover the desk when a flight comes in). The manager then informed me that I was not a priority that the incoming flight is a higher priority I can either sit and wait or leave and not get a car. I understand that may be the actual reality of it but they should never tell any customer they aren’t a priority.
