I absolutely love Avis of Arlington, Texas. The staff is very helpful and patient when it comes to assisting you with selecting a car that meets your needs. I rented a car in December 2023 and I had it for quite a while and I experienced a blowout on the highway and had to have the rental towed away. The staff was very accommodating to me and immediately assisted me with a replacement vehicle. I truly appreciate the service of this company, and I will always rent vehicles from them in the future. Thanks guys!

If the option of not rating was available that would suffice for this location. . I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the services provided by Avis Car Rental, both at the local branch and on a broader scale within the corporation. My experiences have been consistently poor, marked by terrible customer service, unprofessionalism, and subpar vehicle conditions. This letter serves as a formal complaint detailing my grievances and requesting a thorough investigation and resolution of the issues outlined.**Customer Service Experience at the Local Branch: **Local Branch Address: 3212 E Abram St.Arlington, TX 76010From the onset of my interactions with Avis Car Rental, I have encountered severe difficulties in reaching someone at the local branch. On numerous occasions, my calls have gone unanswered, forcing me to engage in persistent attempts to secure assistance. Regrettably, when I have managed to connect with Randy or Katie, the individuals who handle customer inquiries, I have been met with an alarming level of hostility, unprofessionalism, and a lack of customer service skills.**Owner Katie's Conduct: **Particularly concerning has been my experience with Katie, the owner of the local branch. Her attitude has consistently been dismissive and impatient. During our interactions, she displays a marked lack of professionalism, speaking over me and failing to address my concerns adequately. It is evident that she requires formal training in customer service to fulfill the expectations set by Avis Car Rental.**Communication Challenges: **I have also experienced significant challenges in communicating with the local branch through the provided text message number. Messages are read and left on "read" for hours before receiving a response, demonstrating a clear disregard for customer communication and satisfaction.**Vehicle Conditions: **The vehicles provided by Avis have been consistently subpar. The first car I rented had a hanging bumper, yet due to the unavailability of replacement cars, I was forced to use it for almost four months. When I eventually managed to switch to a different vehicle, I received one that was not clean, and its body exhibited extensive physical damage.**Uber Program Issues: **As a participant in the Uber program, I pay a weekly fee of $366 to Avis. However, the failure to switch my vehicle information in the Uber system has left me unable to drive and earn income with the current vehicle, despite continuing to pay for it. The local branch's inability to provide necessary insurance information further compounds this issue.**Inconsistent Information and Mismanagement: **I have received inconsistent information from both Avis customer service and the local branch regarding insurance documentation. This has resulted in a frustrating and time-consuming process of trying to resolve an issue that should have been handled seamlessly during the vehicle swap.**Suggestions for Improvement: **In light of my experiences, I recommend that the entire Avis corporation undergo formal customer service training to better meet customer expectations. Additionally, private Avis franchises should be subject to closer monitoring, potentially through customer surveys, to ensure they maintain Avis's high standards.I believe that Avis Car Rental can and should do better to rectify these issues promptly and provide a more satisfactory experience for its paying customers. I hope this formal complaint triggers a comprehensive investigation into my concerns and results in tangible improvements in Avis's customer service and vehicle maintenance standards.Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I anticipate a prompt and comprehensive resolution.

I usually don't bother to write reviews but this place was deserving of one hoping it might be of help to others. This place deserves ZERO stars due to the incompetent, rude, and unprofessional personnel, primarily RANDY.I reserved a gas vehicle through Uber a week in advance and when I picked up they apparently did not have any vehicles. Randy mentioned there was a vehicle they had just received but hadn't ran tags on so it was unavailable and just sitting there. The woman seemed unwilling to provide much help. Randy talked me into taking a Chevy Bolt electric vehicle they had, and given the need I went ahead and agreed. I soon found out the vehicle would not charge up past 70 miles; not only that but it would take almost 24 hours on level 1 charge and 12 hours on level 2 charge to even get close to the 70 mile charge. As an uber driver this significantly impacted my ability to earn, and I was not able to Uber more than ~2 hours to offset the daily cost of the rental, much less the weekly. I called immediately on Monday and submitted a complaint. The woman was not able to provide any help other than submitting a ticket. I called repeatedly throughout the day to see if they could swap me out to a gas car or another vehicle. I even tried calling 5 other Avis locations. Other Avis locations were able to acknowledge that the vehicle was not working correctly as it should be able to charge to a full battery not just 70 miles; they provided suggestions and alternatives such as swapping out the vehicle, calling another location, or calling their customer service line to ask for a refund. I had one location even attempt to switch out the car for another Bolt but unfortunately due to the system set up you can only switch at the location you rented from. After speaking to the main customer service line I was told I would be getting a refund if I was able to return the vehicle the same day. I drove all the way back from North Dallas to Arlington to see if they could fix the vehicle, switch me out, or at least refund me. Randy was completely dismissive and told me they couldn't do any refunds, they could not switch me out because they didn't have any vehicles and that I had to pay for the weeks rental and I had no other options. This is even after I told him about my conversations with customer service. Neither Randy nor the woman bothered to provide alternative solutions, provide any type of support over the phone to address the charging cap with the vehicle, nor were able to redirect me to their customer service line for further assistance or help seeking a refund. Instead they punted me off, ignored my concerns and even blatantly denied the possibility of a refund. This is completely unprofessional and leads me to think that they either: 1) knew this vehicle had issues to begin with hence they couldn't get off the lot with other drivers 2) had gas Uber eligible vehicles but were too lazy to turn them around to rent out or 3) are overbooking and unknowledgeable about providing customers alternative options. In short, I was left feeling like they simply did not care about the customer, like they just want you out the door - who care's if the vehicle doesn't work properly or you need assistance or a refund or want alternative options, its not their problem if you are stuck paying for a lemon. I should have known to cancel when Randy gave the woman a look and a smirk when I agreed to the the Bolt to begin with.My advice to others is to STAY AWAY from this place!! What they did was nothing short of fraud: promising one thing, delivering another, and then leaving the customer paying for something that does not even work while offering zero help or solutions.

I booked my rental for October 21st 7:30am. At 7:30am I walked to the front door and was met at the door by the rep and told that the establishment doesn't open until 8:00am. I waited in my vehicle until 8:00am to enter the building but at 7:56am a couple that was dropped off via car services entered the building and was serviced! Once I got to the counter, the rep stated that my reservation was surely scheduled for 7:30am, and after my booking date, the Avis location has changed their operating hours. I believe I should have been honored my scheduled pickup time due to the fact I was able to book that time slot on the avis website. Servicing a patron 4 minutes before opening hours was not honorable when I was told that the building didn't open till 8:00am even with a scheduled 7:30am booking. Once I received the rental, the cleanliness was not acceptable. Dusty dashboard and pet hairs all throughout the carpet.

Smooth experience. Another Avis rental location nearby (2904 S. Cooper St) screwed me up with a "sorry we don't have any car available" at the time of pick-up; this particular location helped out big time.

This location needs more customer service reps, but other than having to wait a while, it was alright.

Super nice, new staff. They are very helpful, answered all my questions, and were even super friendly while I waited for my ride after dropping off the rental.

Andrea is unprofessional at this location. And once you act the way she does she will say that you are unprofessional. I returned the vehicle before the 2 week deadline (you pay for the week at the beginning of each week on the day you started the rental), and they charged me for two weeks plus late charges. At this location they also lack to provide you with all of the information you need to know at the very beginning. They tell you after you return it. My recommendation is to ask every question under the Sun about the rental and fees and setup of your account before renting with them. Don’t rely on the bold printed or highlighted items only.

Avis charged me for an extra day car rental because their employees do not know what location has after hour drops offs on the weekend. Apparently, it is on at the airport. Heads up. You can get better deals with other rental companies.
