I stored my new boat at this facility for a couple of years and unfortunately encountered some significant issues.
Issue 1: Initially, I kept my boat in covered storage, but it was broken into and damaged by the thief. While the facility did offer me a free month’s rent as compensation, this did not cover the cost of the damage and was insufficient for an insurance claim.
Issue 2: To prevent further theft, I moved my boat into an enclosed unit. However, the door to this unit had trouble staying open because the spring wasn’t properly wound. After several attempts, I was usually able to keep it up. One day, while pulling my boat out, the door unexpectedly fell onto the boat, causing damage to both the interior of my boat and the storage unit door. I reported the incident to the owner, Colby, and asked if they would cover the damage since it resulted from a faulty door. Unfortunately, Colby responded rudely and disrespectfully, claiming I had no proof of what happened and implying that I was being dishonest. When I requested surveillance footage, I was told none was available. Also, their rental agreement states they will not cover damage, even if THEY cause it . Additionally, when I mentioned the torsion spring issue, he took offense and insisted I didn’t need to explain how doors work, stating he has installed hundreds of them—apparently including this one.
On a positive note, Denice has been very kind and a pleasure to work with. Sadly, she is part of an otherwise unprofessional and discourteous operation.
