Many customers consider it their favorite BBQ restaurant in the Bastrop area, even preferring it over BBQ joints in Austin and Lockhart. While the sausage and brisket have been praised in the past, some customers have noted recent inconsistencies in food quality. Despite this, those who try it often vow to return, making it a cherished stop for both locals and visitors alike.
This is still one of my favorite BBQ joints. I have been going for over ten years and the quality has never faltered.

I first stopped in to Billy's nearly 20 years ago on just a on my way to Bryant. I never required the place because I was just traveling through.Today I made it a point to stop in on the way to the airport. Unbelievably it was the same as my first visit 20 years ago. Food was very good. Service was quick but friendly. Everything was packed up nicely so nothing spilled out.
