AMAZING little gem in the heart of Bastrop! The book chimney is a piece of art in itself. Wonderful atmosphere for book lovers and make sure to say hello to the resident cat! And if you love music, be sure to visit the adjoining Astro Record Store - you won't be disappointed.

I fell in love with the shop and then out of love when they wouldn't take my cash. I offered to round-up and give the cash-ier (ha ha) a ten from the $8 they wanted and then she could pay the bill with her own credit card but alas, she said she did not have enough money in her account to accommodate me. I cannot and will not support a store that will not take cash.

As a fan of Ryan Holiday’s work, I’ve known about this shop but never had the chance to visit. I happened to be in the area and made a point to check it out. It’s so cute inside and seems to have great potential for events and live music, which is awesome! There was even a Shop Cat that made an appearance! Definitely worth visiting!

Could do without the cringey “reproductive right” T-shirts. Was peacefully perusing and came upon this and it’s just like why impose your opinion on a customer. I happen to have a different opinion, that “reproductive right” that you’re referring to actually means ending life. What a stupid thing to stand for and you really don’t want your customers to be forced to take a side when they’re just there to buy books on stoicism. Keep your opinions elsewhere.

This is a very cool bookshop. Super aesthetically pleasing. Not a huge selection, but great vibes. Due to Ryan holidays influence it has a very strong stoic section.

Great place, I could have stayed all day but only had the time for an hour visit. Great selection and helpful staff. Worth a visit!

Great curated bookstore! Please add more lighting, on a cloudy day it is very dark inside!

I love visiting independent book stores in small towns. However, this book store was so dark (as in NO lighting) that it was uncomfortable and near impossible to shop. It was difficult to see the items on the shelfs and forget reading a book blurb. I left disappointed. Hopefully they can fix/adjust the lighting situation in the near future.

Your bookstore location was once an amazing restaurant, but it was fun to see what your company had created with the space, that you made into your bookstore. Your bookstore was very warm and cozy, and I enjoyed myself. ?

Cool little shop with a well-curated selection. The store has a fatal flaw for me - they want money for their books, yet do not accept money as payment. Credit card only. The policy is absurd and not something I can support.
