Funky old building but don't let that scare you away. The food is fresh and delicious.Kid-friendliness: It is fun for the kids to sit on the porch and watch the boats go up and Down Caney Creek.Well behaved dogs may be allowed on the patio.

Want to eat some good fried seafood in a rustic atmosphere on the waters edge complete with a boat ramp? Then look no further!Decent little local dive that serves good food and lets you bring your own drinks. In fact, you have to because it's BYOB. The staff was friendly and quick. Give it a try if you're in the area.

I had the mushroom Swiss burger, oh wow. I'll get it again. The wife had a Crabcake burger, that made the #2 of all time list.

Great customer service. Best seafood and steaks. Wait time is usually reasonable depending on business but so worth the wait if u have to wait.Vegetarian options: Veggie tacos, grilled vegetables, green beans. Mac and cheese, fried mushrooms, French fries etc

Grilled shrimp and shrimp salad is always wonderful. We always sit outside back near the water, watch the fishermen and talk to the locals.

Great food and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Fried Catfish Plate $16. The waitress said oh it’s Friday and is on special for $10.99 it comes with 2 sides! My husband loved his Hamburger $8.99 and we shared my sides. We highly recommend.P.S. The main street that drives directly to the restaurant there is a bridge that is out so follow the DETOUR Signs. It’s worth driving the extra miles to get there! It’s also BYOB..

Nice little spot, looks run down but they have decent food. I tried the chicken fried chicken with gravy and grilled veggies. The veggies were fresh, grilled and seasoned nicely. The chicken was awesome, a great crunchy crust and tasty gravy. Service was also great.

Prices are too high for this establishment. They are about the sane as Pappadeux but h this place is no Pappadeux.. Flavor of the fried Shrimp and Crab Cakes were good. Flavor of the onion rings was on point but the breading was falling off so it was difficult to get a good bite. The inside of the establishment is cramped and extremely small like a diner or cafe. The restroom is a port-a-potty outside. The mosquitos were in abundance both inside and outside the restaurant and atrocious making it difficult to have a pleasant dining experience (we visited late October). Some citronella candles could’ve helped with the mosquito issue and also could’ve served a dual purpose by providing light when the power went out, lol. Our server was excellent and during the time the power was out she maintained composure and continued to see to the needs of our group (party of 12). She did bring the wrong plate to my dad but it was difficult to see with the lights out. I was impressed by her dedication to continue service during the power outage.

While The Crab Trap Grill is a bit hard to get to at the moment, it's worth the extra time caused by the (soon to be gone) detour. I ordered to go, and the wait at the bar was pleasant, country music, not too loud, typical novelty décor, and a courteous, friendly and efficient waitstaff made the surprisingly short time go quickly. The food was excellent, grilled redfish, grilled seasoned green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy at a very good price point, I had to put Gracie in her crate once she got a whiff. Seating in the restaurant was divided into the main dining, screened porch and outdoor, by the water. The view was really nice, especially since it was close to sundown. I would definitely take a date there, if I ever decide to try my luck again. Wear comfortable shoes, the parking lot is large and dirt, with the expected pitfalls.

This place is amazing for a small town. It's a little gem, my wife says, and the kids love to sit and watch the boats pass by. It is very affordable and convenient when you have been fishing all day and don't want to fight going back to cook for the family. You can pull right up to a boat slip or drive and park. Definitely our families favorite place to eat when we come down!

I ordered the crab cakes and it appeared to be nearly 90% bread rather than crab meat. The wife loved the grilled red fish and grilled veggies. Nice homey atmosphere and wait staff were fast and courteous.Wheelchair accessibility: Has parking and ramp
