If I can give them 0 stars, I would! I went in today to sell a nursing pillow, baby clothes & a halo bassinet for them to just offer me $8 yesss $8!!! That is ridiculous! The bassinet itself costs $179.99. I would not recommend taking yalls stuff to them & the girls also have an attitude.

Went in there and the employees are very rude and have attitudes. That one pregnant girl had an attitude and then to find out she’s the manager. How disappointing. Whoever owns this place needs to do something about how they treat customers especially that manager. Not my first bad experience here.

POOR MANAGEMENT!!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OVERALL POOR ENVIRONMENT!!!! The young girls who work there are disrespectful as well as that manager. I had a poor experience here at this store and it has been like this for a while. I will definitely not be coming back until something changes. Maybe they need new management because I’ve always heard bad things about this store and the way it is managed.

I was going to give this a higher rating due to getting a profit, but I thought better of it. The are 4 women behind the counter. 2 black women, 1 white, and 1 Hispanic woman. I said their race because I wasn’t there long enough to know their names, so it is no disrespect to anyone whatsoever. However, I get in the store I said ‘Hi, how are you?’ Everyone act like they didn’t want to answer. I should have known for that energy alone that it was going to be something. I took the meat through away the bones. Because ‘I’m leaving here with something’ *Denzel Washington voice* I gave them my bag, and later on they called me in. The white lady (pink shirt), told me that some they took and some they didn’t take, which is fine, but do I have the green sheet. I remember my ID, but not my green receipt. I gave them my ID instead. She told the Hispanic lady (yellow shirt), to give me a receipt for what they did and didn’t take. She said okay, will take me around the counter. While she is doing that I asked what was wrong with the clothes you didn’t take. Mind you, I wasn’t offended I just wanted to know so I won’t be giving them something that they didn’t take. Also, do they have a slip or anything that says what they will take. I know what the website says too, but mind you every store is different and this my first time at this one. The other stores had sheets to give you and what have you, once again not offended. She said (pink shirt) we don’t have a slip or anything because it changes from time to time(understandable), but some had stains (nothing a washer machine probably can’t fix), and the last she said was ‘or $1 brands’ ….unnecessary comment because I looked at what they didn’t take and the brands they didn’t take from me was mostly the gap and wonder nation. The main brands, other than Carter’s, I have been giving Once Upon a Child. That’s also what they have on their website is the Gap and Wonder Nation as brands they take. I bit my tongue because the irony is the Party City store is going to be a BIG Dollar Tree Store right next door to Once Upon a Child, and if wasn’t for THRIFT... I apologize secondhand clothing stores, which were affordable for people to shop at, especially in this day and time. This establishment wouldn’t be a business selling used, but gentle clothes, regardless of brand. I’m pretty sure babies especially are happy to have clothes let alone worry about the brand, but anyways. What was the icing on the cake was I asked for my receipt and the yellow shirt (Hispanic) lady, told me to sign a receipt for payment slip. I looked up just to see IN HER HAND while she say ‘oh you don’t get a receipt’ with the green sheet I was looking for in her hands. She was taping them together. Mind you, that’s why they TOLD ME to go to her in the first place. I took my money and left because this is too much just to drop off clothes for a small profit with unnecessary attitudes that I didn’t deserve or ask for.

I literally am taken aback by the prices they have on these clothes. It’s like highway robbery in this place I went to look at little girls dresses that are used and they’re literally charging eight dollars for used dresses that you can get brand new at target for like five it’s ridiculous people come there to find clothes that are affordable that have been USED and are getting completely ripped off. All I did was make a circle around the little girls dresses. I circled around to check the little boys clothes and nothing was under six dollars. The shoes were baffling to me somewhere dirty. Clearly you could tell they were used and priced at $18. Trust me on this go to a normal thrift store. This place is a rip off. I’ve never walked in somewhere and actually been angry about the prices because I feel like they’re robbing people.

I recently sold some of my kids’ clothes, shoes, and toys at Once Upon a Child and had a great experience! The process was super straightforward—just brought in my gently used items, and they looked through everything pretty quickly. The staff was friendly and explained how it all worked. I appreciated that they were honest about what they could take and offered a fair price for the items they accepted. It felt good to declutter and get a little cash back while knowing the stuff will be reused. I’ll definitely be coming back with more!

I’ve always loved shopping at Once Upon a child, but the past few times I’ve had horrible experiences. I’ve stopped selling here because I feel I’m better off selling in mom groups to get fair prices. Today I went in to browse around and I didn’t feel welcomed by staff. It was a very uncomfortable shopping trip. When I approached the counter to check out a group of very young employees were standing around having very unprofessional conversations. I waited at the counter for a few minutes before even being acknowledged and when I was it was with sigh and a very unpleasant attitude. I’ve never had this problem at other locations but the young employees at the Baytown location are bad for business.
