This place is the worst rental car company that I have ever had to deal with! They completely lied about reserving my car and getting the car and keys to the FBO at the airport! I got in at 2:30am like I told them, and there wasn’t a car waiting for me! Please do not use this lying company. Use Enterprise instead!! They had cars waiting for other drivers at the same location that Avis said they were leaving a car for me.

Caleb added Liability option without my approval (added about $450 in additional charges, had to escalate my refund request) and then used the wrong discount code so after rental is closed out that couldn't be corrected. FYI: You have to notice the wrong discount code & get it corrected before returning the vehicle, otherwise customer service won't help you. Great car for rental, but customer service needs to be more transparent, and company policies need more flexibility.

Let me tell you I went in to pick up my rental which was reserved 2 weeks prior c30 was rented c90 was avail but a mess seat was tore up in the passenger side .Actually caught my passenger many times threwout the Wed threw Sun rental...Costed approx 475.90 lol .State of vehicle was.stated oil change hadn't been, done dirty as could be ..2 weeks later Avis sends a 125.00 cleaning bill gonna take it off my card ...Airline location wasn't aware of this AVIS HOUSTON JUST DECIDED THIS ...AND MOVED ON IT !!! How many consumers does AVIS do this to yearly ...they don't know ...BEWARE Maybe look into othere agency's... at that Price your Ducks need to be in a row...Avis

If I could give a zero, I would. I am disgusted with how I've been treated, knowing how much business I've given them.
I'm a preferred member with Avis and spent tens of thousands of dollars due to work travel last year.
They charged me 125$ extra for minor cleaning last week.
Then, they charged me extra because they didn't have the car I reserved and had to bump me a level rather than giving me the upgrade for the cost of what I originally reserved.
I'm going to take all of my business and money and go somewhere else. Maybe they will treat me better.
Others in line in front of me were having problems also.
If you want better treatment for your money, go literally anywhere else.
I recently experienced enterprise (out of my control), and I found it much easier, more pleasant, faster, and I got superior treatment, and I'm not even a preferred member or even use them.
I'll try them out.

First the charge for a small vehicle rental is entirely too high. It’s robbery. Then they charged $250 to hold as a deposit. This was not said to me at all until it was time to swipe my card for $250. When I got into the vehicle it stunk. It smelled like cigarettes and mildew. The car was not full of gas when I received it. And when I returned it was over half full. But they decided to charge me $57 because it wasn’t all the way full. The car was tiny and in no way would it even have to be filled up from empty to that amount. I think I filled it up for $30 as a matter of fact. The only reason I used this company is because I had no other choice because my dad is really sick and had to have a heart surgery done. Employee, I belive his name is Tyler, had no sympathy whatsoever and did not offer any kind of compensation. 0/10 do not recommend this company. Renters be ware. They are a bunch of crooks.

I had reservations with Thrifty through Expedia. I prepaid, did early check-in, and tried to select my vehicle, but Thrifty didn't have anyone working, so they sent us to Hertz, which was next to avis. There were no vehicles available at my appointed time, so they told me I could wait until someone dropped a car off, I could take an electric car, or I could take an upgrade for free. They gave us the upgrade but didn't give us instructions about the checkout process. Let's talk about the airport fees they add on. They added an additional $200 in fees that had to be paid. $500 hold on debit card or $250 hold on credit card. Make sure you read or ask questions before you reserve a car. Now I understand why their name is Thrifty.

Thank you, Caleb!!! I had rented a car in Ohio and was visiting family in Texas and due to circumstances I needed to extend my rental. I was in a panic as I couldn't extend my reservation over the phone via the 1-800 number. So, I drove to the local retailer and Caleb was there. He was very helpful! He was able to extend my rental without charging me extra fees. Upon my return of the rental car to Ohio the representative there stated that Caleb billed me correctly and not all Avis representatives do this properly. Thanks again Caleb! I appreciate your kindness as well as your fantastic customer service!

Needed a car last minute. I reserved online the night before. Arrived right at 9 the next morning and was in and out within 10 minutes! Affordable and easy! The Jack Brooks location was awesome! Will recommend and use anytime when needing a rental!

NO MATTER HOW MANY WEEKS IN ADVANCE I RENT A VEHICLE FROM AVIS. AND EARLY CHECK IN, I STILL EXPERIENCE LENGTHY WAIT PERIODS AND THEIR COMPUTER GLITCHES. THEN TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, THE HOLD PERIOD OF THE DEPOSIT MONIES TO BE PLACED BACK ON YOUR CARD GREATLY EXCEEDS THE DATE THE ACTUAL CHARGE APPEARS ON YOUR CARD. MY CARD WAS CHARGED A WEEK AGO BUT STILL NO RELEASE OF THE DEPOSIT. I ALWAYS RETURN THE VEHICLE SEVERAL HOURS B4 REQUIRED IN SAME CONDITION RECEIVED AND FULL TANK OF GAS. I ACTUALLY LIKE THEIR VEHICLES BUT THE REST OF THE EXPERIENCE WITH AVIS LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED.

They made my Renting very easy no problems I will say they do check credit on Equifax so have it unfrozen before going check out the vehicle... If you don't add insurance they will add it anyway but will hold 250$ from your bank account but when you return the vehicle you will receive it right back

The staff was super friendly and attentive and helped us with the car that we picked up in Austin that had not very reliable breaks. They gave us a different car that was working great and we felt safe again. We have been at several Avis on this trip before coming here and the service was mediocre at best. Here though Carlie and Brendan were friendly and quick and all of our questions were answered. Thank you to Carlie and Braden who helped us out that day!

Had to trade out rentals because the other branch gave us a car with bad tires.
Tires were bold.
They also charged us 250 for smoking in the vehicle.
I smoke next to it. I didn't smoke in it.

Avis has always been reliable and alway provided the car that I book for with no excuses! In addition, their cars are always almost brand new so you’ve got the confidence in getting to your destination timely and safely! Shout out to the Jack Brooks Regional Airport, BPT, Avis Team! Enjoyed my experience in the Chevy Premier Suburban SUV driving from South East Texas to LA! See you all soon!
