They used to be a great bank that I could trust. My card expired in October and I still do not have my replacement weeks after I was told I would. The only answers I'm getting are "just wait". Waiting isn't good enough when I need to pay my bills.

I've been banking with EDFCU for 15 years and I am now considering switching banks. They updated there website on 9/29-10/2 and now I can't access one of my accounts. I called and requested a place in the Queue for a call back. I was called back after an hour to be placed immediately on hold by a lady for another hour. They never answered and you can't just walk in due to covid. I can't make an appt because the hold time is over an hour just to speak to someone and there is no way to bypass it. This is very inconvenient since I am at work and can't just leave to try and talk to someone at the bank.

My mom LOVES this credit union. They took a chance and gave her her 1st financed auto loan at 6.25 rate, that helped her establish credit. She had no credit before then. They also approved a personal loan, and a polar express loan. She had paid them all in full and on time, which help boost her credit score to 717,687, and the other one is unknown; but I'm sure its pretty decent as well. They were there for her when the government shut down, natural disasters hit, and during the pandemic. During these unexpected times, the allowed her to skip payments without charging fees or being pentalized. Even when she was uncertain about how she will continue to pay her loans after lost of certain finances, they were there to help her as much as possible with compassion. Everyone speak so highly of other credit unions like Neches, who she also banks with, but no other credit union have been there like EDUCATION FIRST CREDIT ONION! People were trying to deter her about doing business with them from the beginning, but it has been a blessing to choose Educational First. Thanks to all staff. You all rock!!

We are in a pandemic, I have lost SEVERAL family and friends during this time (even in the past few days), and I have constantly been blindsided with "unexpected" charges on my--now deceased--father's account. I have been doing the best I can to handle his unpaid debts with the VERY little that I have at the moment, but am constantly being bamboozled by these people. I gave them my father's death certificate back in August when I received it, along my information (which they asked for), so that I could receive the necessary documents pertaining to his account. I had his mail forwarded to my address that same week, but, for some reason, in January, one of my family members received a call saying that they were coming to repossess his vehicle as it was not paid off. This whole time, I NEVER received any notice of this, and was told to come up with almost $1500 that day or the vehicle would be taken away. I was also told that the reason I never received any notice was because it (his banking mail) was being sent to my "father's" address as they are not allowed to mail it to me (...so, I guess they were sending it to heaven ). Also--even though I am the next of kin, and am the person taking care of all of his post-death affairs--I am not allowed to receive any documentation on how to handle the situation, and am just supposed to trust "word of mouth" (which has now put me in tremendous debt), and believe what what I am being fed. When I tried to call again to see about settling the debt, I ended up speaking with Suzette who was EXTREMELY snarky and rude during the whole conversation. She eventually tried to transfer me to the correct department. When she couldn't reach them, she told me she'd connect me to their voicemail. I told her I had the direct number to that specific line (not previously knowing that was whom I was supposed to be in touch with) and that I would call back later [it was during the middle of the Texas freeze, I had neither water nor electricity, the pipes froze, the ceiling had just caved in with ice/water, and I needed to save my phone battery]; once I told her I had the number, she responded in a VERY nasty tone, "well, good for you," and hung up in my face. *I had a friend with me, and they heard the whole conversation as I had the call on speakerphone.* At that point, I was just completely disgusted with this institution. When I finally got ahold to the proper contact (some weeks later), I made the "full" payment, but was immediately then told they wanted MORE money!!! I seriously could not believe what I was hearing, as--once again--I have NO EVIDENCE that any of this is even true in the first place since I haven't received ANY proper assistance/documentation on this matter. It's atrocious, and ridiculous. I seriously hope my dad is resting in peace because I surely am not...

27 years into my membership with education first FCU they allowed my ,now Ex, to remove me from a joint checking while I still had money there. The later gave me a payoff on account that proves to be wrong. I paid them off and boy am I glad. I currently with a bank that values it's members. Praise God!

Nice staff poor business practices. We found out our account was being debited for a membership that was not ours. Contacted bank they admitted to putting the wrong account #. I filled out all the paper work went through there legal process, there were five different charges going back four months. They only reimbursed us for one payment. After contacting them again they said they would not reimburse us some 60 day policy ( never heard of anything like that). While closing our account they wanted us to go through the legal process again NO THANKS.. We decided to take the loss and move on before it happens again.

I have been a member/customer of Education First for about 4 years. I don't think I have ever been happier with a bank/credit union. The branches are conveniently located. The employees are very easy to deal with and helpful. The fees are the lowest I have experienced including usually expensive transactions like refinancing a home. The loans department really worked with me to get the best combination of credit products for my situation. I highly recommend for people at all stages of life and all financial needs. Cathy B.
