I have done my taxes at this location for 3 years, but even if I was not moving, I doubt I'd return to this location. My tax situation was very different this year & I had canceled then waited last minute to file. Shirley was understandably not available on April 15th but Sudha was a Rockstar for taking me as a walk in. She knew what she was doing & although under a time crunch filed my return it was worth the over $300 to have piece of mind my filing was accurate.
However, we overheard another preparer complaining how she came into work with pneumonia for the week. I have an autoimmune disease & my partner has a high risk of contracting pneumonia (he has had it multiple times) if we weren't almost done we would've walked out. The other preparer also complained about another tax preparer that 'stole a client she worked on for months to come in' and everyone including other clients heard that over $500 commission should have been hers. I get that everyone needs a moment to vent occasionally and again as it was April 15th everyone in the office is likely under high stress. Even with this Sudha was very professional and filed my return quickly as she saw our discomfort and concern.
I have done my taxes for 12 years with H&R Block but will seriously consider if I return to a location near our new home next year. Hearing a preparer have lack of concern for public health (people die of complications from pneumonia everyday), talk ill of a coworker (hostile work environments affect your client's experience) & reduce a client down to just a commission (we get that you make a profit off a service we need or don't want to do ourselves) leaves a very bad impression.

I've had H&R Block do my taxes for 5 years now, but in 2024 I had a horrible experience. My previous tax professional had retired so I was forced to pick someone else. Barbara Mackewicz was who I was paired with. She entered in multiple numbers incorrectly, including my birthday and numbers I had typed out for her regarding my small business. She kept trying to speak to my husband over me, even though I am the one who handles our taxes. She also made me extremely uncomfortable because she kept touching my husband's arm and complimenting his tattoos. Barbara was very unprofessional. This year I decided to use another company to do our taxes.

I worked with Shirley Chan (Bedford TX). Shirley is professional, courteous, and she prepared & filed my return in a very timely manner. First, I created an account and uploaded all necessary documents, then we had only a couple of email exchanges, and finally we met a few days later in person to review. Tax year 2023 is the first year I sought professional help due to complexity triggered by inheritance. The process was smooth. Expectations exceeded.

The only complain is that it costs $265 for not even 20 min of work.That is absolutely ridiculous pricing and no, I will never use H&R Block again to do my taxes.Pls let ppl know ahead of time about your pricing.
