The staff were great at BCAS, but the baby I adopted on Sunday now has Parvo. They apparently gave him his vaccine, but he was in another kennel with another dog. If you are deciding to adopt from there, please ask them to test for parvo before you take those babies home because now my baby is fighting for his life at the vet.

They suck. I love animals and I called them about abandoned chickens left at a hiking trail and they do nothing.

I am all for supporting local shelters and rescues, as I am a huge animal lover and activist. HOWEVER, this shelter needs to take accountability for what they did! They refused a rescue to take 2 kittens out of the shelters care to get medical attention they NEEDED. Which resulted in one of them (as of right not) losing their life. TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY for your actions! #justicefortwix

Please before you purchase a pet, please consider an animal rescue. The staff at Bell County do a great job with the limited resources they have. You can tell they care for the animals with a deep passion. I got my lite buddy there yesterday.

Just adopted a kitten today. She's beautiful and adjusting so well already. Bless the people there taking care of these babies. There are so many. Please adopt before you buy. 😢

Bell County Texas Animal Shelter ya’ll should be ashamed of how stinky and unsanitary the kennels are right now. I came up there to look at the animals and the smell was atrocious. I am not sure if you have standards for care, but the standard should not be at puke or not puke based on smell. The worker at the front desk didn’t seem too interested in what I had to say since he just sat in his chair staring at his phone.

Great caring employees. If you’re patient and not rude.
They first gave you a date to come back when they have kennels open. We were able to surrender our 2 dogs. They allowed my daughter to walk the dog to the kennel and say goodbye.

this animal shelter put down my friend’s cat without any notice. said their animals are on a 72 hour hold, but my friend was unable to go adopt their cat back because they were closed. claimed the cat was “too feral” to be adopted just because he was scared and thought that was good enough reason to euthanize him. someone was interested in adopting him, but the shelter failed to get back in touch with them and lied to them when they said none of their animals that they got in were going to be euthanized. in my opinion, find another place to go if possible. this place is extremely unprofessional and the people there are unfit to work with animals.

i would genuinely give this shelter zero stars, if possible. obscenely unprofessional place, in my opinion. they barely answer the phone, have no way of seeing what animals have been put up for adoption / have been found + picked up *unless* you have a facebook account really, and on top of that, euthanized multiple animals for no real reason. not to mention how, in their facebook comments section, i had seen one woman pledging to save some of the cats that had been posted about a week ago, they didn't reply to her at all, only come to find out that they had put down pretty much every cat that had been posted for no reason at all *and* didn't let anyone who was interested in them know beforehand. definitely wouldn't trust them with the life of any animal since they seem to want to put them down so freely.
