The Ben Wheeler Post Office is known for its abundantly clear lack of concern for customer service. Whether it’s long wait times, unfriendly staff, or missed mail, the lack of effort to address issues leaves many residents frustrated. It’s become a place where patrons often feel like an afterthought rather than a priority.

***Prepare for this office to never or hardly ever be open for anything other than just mail pick up from your box.The people that occupy space at the post office Ben Wheeler have got to be some of the laziest, uninformed, uninterested people that my husband & I have have ever seen. Let me be clear about this: we (my husband & myself) have had a PO Box at this location for 5+ years. If I could've given a negative star, I would have..I honestly thought it was my fault that most of my encounters with the employees seemed to end with me leaving red-faced, confused & not ever wanting to come back. Now I'm not so sure; & my main concern is isn't the customer service anymore; it's identity theft, & just being a nosey person or persons-thumbing through catalogs & other misc addressed to my husband & myself. About 7 months ago we signed up for 'Informed Delivery', a free service offered by the postal service...we thought it would be great since we can't get to the post office every day. Basically this informed delivery service scans the front of any letter/package, then you recieve a text/email so you know exactly what's there with the exception of the sales ads. We've been having issues with not everything being scanned in for several months. We went Saturday (07/23/22) to pick up the mail & discovered that we had a full box but, had only recieved 1 notification with 1 scanned piece of mail to show. One of the envelopes in question was from our credit union. It appeared to have been cut open & resealed. We've lost what little trust we had with this place/people. My husband & I have watched as the employees are knowingly rude/snappy with some, while being sugar sweet to others.Honestly, if there were another postal service, I'd go there. One more thing...this has nothing to do with the service itself; but if we, the general public aren't allowed to smoke inside the building, the employees shouldn't be allowed to smoke while sorting our mail.

Don't change it's old school. The least efficient Govt. business out there we need to hire somebody in the private sector to just get it together Good luck going through their automated system I was just surprised they didn't say huh, my bad and www on the outgoing message they repeat every stupid thing that they have on there I think the pony Express was faster I've been waiting on a check for a week from Austin. A week to go from Austin to Dallas. They have ten days in a week.

I enjoy working with the staff at this post office very much. Always professional and help me solve issues that come up from time to time with my business. I can't imagine having a better experience with any post office anywhere.

Very rude, guy that runs it makes his own hours. And how dare you say anything about it. He needs a reality check on who he works for.

This is one of the post offices that cannot resolve issues with clients looking for lost property.
On November 19 2018 Ted winton of PO Box 86 recieved a package that was accidentally shipped to him. The business that shipped this item to him tried to get in touch with him but he hasnt responded. The post office say they cannot assist the business contacting winton or give out his phone number or other information about him.
This problem leaves a large gap for people conducting mail fraud. many businesses will not persue packages of less than $100.00 lost at the post office. Package thieves are having a field day.

We put up a new mailbox after replacing the broken one. It was up for one day while we were in town looking for address marker the mail carrier wrote on my mailbox with red our address. No letter or anything just did it and ruined it the first day it was up. Then I find a note from the carrier in the mailbox asking is to put a bin out to put the larger parcels in. None of my neighbors have a bin and if I did have a bin acres away from my house my items would probably get stolen. It is less obvious to have a box by the gate then to have a bin stating hey there's new stuff in here and no one around, overall not happy with the service and the miss placed mail/bills that are late due to late delivery. Not to mention the packages that are not delivered and stated to be at the post office, drive 20 min to post office with the message stating they are there to be told they are not there and must have been left in the carriers car.. Why is my property in someone's car for days? Not impressed.
