About Chisos Mountains Lodge
Chisos Mountains Lodge offers a simple, cozy, and vintage stay with breathtaking, insane, and priceless views of the mountains directly from the rooms and private porches. The location is amazing, fantastic, and absolutely worth it, allowing guests to walk straight from their porch to trailheads into the Big Bend wilderness. The cottages are generally clean and comfortable with insanely comfortable, possibly memory foam beds, perfect after a long day of hiking. It is the only pet-friendly heaven in Big Bend, making trips less stressful and more enjoyable for dogs and their owners. The lodge is an older building without flashy luxury, and some units may have maintenance issues like a difficult bathroom door or a loud fan. During renovations, the main restaurant is closed, though a solid food truck is available. Parking can be difficult when taken by day hikers. The property is undergoing a big renovation, with some lodges scheduled to be torn down. Despite its simplicity and occasional flaws, the staff is fantastic, and the overall experience of the views, comfort, privacy, and location is highly recommended, leaving guests wanting more and planning to return.
Great stay! DO NOT EXPECT LUXURY!!! The luxury is in the breathtaking views and trails from your room that will leave you wanting MORE!!! Reminds me of the Grand Canyon lodge in the 80s! No FLUFF here just endless views in every direction that are priceless!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!

This is definitely an older building, but we liked the atmosphere. Our back balcony faced the mountains giving us an incredible sunset view. We were told they were tearing down all the lodges in May, so I'm glad we went when we did.

Location is amazing obviously. The sunrise in the morning was absolutely priceless and amazing. Fantastic staff. If you are doing Big Bend I say you have to try this hotel.
