I believe a bank officer should make recommendations to customers but I do not believe they should intrude into your personal life, restrict your cards/funds, and treat you like you are 5 years old. I am certainly old enough and sane enough to conduct my own affairs. Twice I was unable to complete purchases because my accounts were restricted. Yes, I was approached by a scammer but bank procedures prevented that scammer from achieving their goal. During that process no one at the bank called me or sought to tell me what was going on for over two and a half hours. When I asked for supervisors no one was available. Finally got a call and was able to block/delete whatever. Then a week later, ( A WEEK LATER!!!!) account restrictions! I asked if there had been more activity….no, just that once. Off restriction for a day then bang!! Unable to pay for breakfast because more restrictions!! Lots and lots of questions, leading and personal, that are absolutely no one’s business, then get your money out of our bank! I do not invite anyone into my personal life, let alone a bank officer! Did you know that it takes Social Security six weeks to change your Direct Deposit?? Lots and lots of repercussions because I had nothing to share with a bank officer! Best take your business elsewhere! I understand minimizing risks but I am not a scammer or being scammed!

Such a friendly considerate branch. We've just recently switched to this bank. I just received a birthday card personally signed by the bank tellers. In addition whenever I have my daughter with me, she is acknowledged aswell. So nice to have a business that gets the village aspect of a community. Keep up the GREAT work! AWESOME JOB!

My 16 year old started a new job and wanted to open an account. He needed to get money off his payroll debit card to open the account at the bank I use. Evelyn Shoemake must have misunderstood what card he would be using in the ATM and said the fee would only be $1...well because it was a non Sonora card the fees were $6 from Sonora (2 attempted withdrawals) and $1.50 from the debit card. $7.50 to access $60! Man, I was pissed and demanded that she fix it. Evelyn said they needed to research the ATM transactions and get back to us. I left irritated AND certain we would never hear from Evelyn again, but sometime during the week she quietly followed up, fixed it and emailed my son. This was all for a $100 (now $106) opening balance free fee checking account. My mind was blown! I truly had no faith that she would follow up. This is another example of superior customer service at Sonora Bank in Boerne and specifically Evelyn Shoemake.
