I would rate a 0 if I could I brought in a steer with. 628lb hanging weight and left with less than 300 lbs of meat. All of my organs, ribs, and a tri tip were missing. They promise to make it right and never do. Stay away if you want to get all of your meat back!

We have had a steer processed by this company and work extremely pleased with the process in the product. In fact we are about to have our second steer processed by them. They also have items for sale on site such as their specialty cuts of meat.

Horrible service call a week after dropping of my pigs and was told they don't have hanging weight for my pigs because they were still alive was told they would be ready in 2 weeks took 4 weeks to get the call they were ready and didn't receive the cut we requested and was charged for asked about it and was told they gave me all of my meat. Was also told Katie would call me it's been about 3 weeks and still haven't received a call. They are very rude on the phone have no intentions on resolving the issue i now know how they stock the store... with other people's animals...

A calf was processed there. The meat has a weird flavor but we ate it anyway. Every bag of hamburger meat we cooked had some bone pieces in it. So my daughter called them about it. Whoever she spoke to said to bring 10 bags of hamburger meat up there so they can go thru them. I called to discuss whether she would get 10 bags in return or be credited for the 10 bags lost. The manager told me they’ve never had bones in there hamburger meat and that they’d go thru them. I said yes but you aren’t answering my question. Will she be reimbursed in some way for the bags you open and go thru. She said IF there were bones in what they opened yes but if they didn’t find any then no.So drive an hour away with the 10 bags so they can open them up and maybe they find some but left with possibly say they don’t so they don’t have to replace. Not happy at all. I don’t mind them opening up 1 or 100 bags but they should get some kind of product or credit in return for what they destroy going thru itWon’t use them again

UNENDING EXCUSES FOR BAD MANAGEMENT. If I could give zero stars I would. I had a billy goat processed by Rail 19 recently and was appalled at the way the place is managed (we initially had 2 billies scheduled but one had taken ill and per TX state law couldn't be processed until he recovered). I dropped him off on a Saturday. I had requested the horns (for my dogs) as part of the order and was told they would go bad really fast; I was advised that I should pick them up by the following Tuesday at the latest. When I went to pick them up I was told they were not ready. I was given the excuse that several employees ( which points to a significant issue from a personnel standpoint!!!) had quit over the weekend and that the horns weren't ready. They apologized and told me that I "should have been called" and was then assured that my meat would be ready by that Saturday as scheduled and the horns could be picked up then as well. I called first thing that Saturday to confirm pickup before making the drive. The first time nobody answered. The second time the person who answered was incredibly rude and told me they "didn't know" before hanging up. The third time I called I was told they would "check and call me back".... and I had to call back 3 hours later. They tried to tell me they would "check and call me back" again but I pushed back. I was eventually told my meat was NOT ready and that it would be ready until the next week on Monday. I was told that I "should have been called" before it got to that point. We went through the same call process (3 calls, no callback, etc) on Monday before I was finally told it would be ready on Wednesday. Again, I was told that that I "should have been called" before it got to that point. I called first thing that Wednesday and went through the SAME routine (3 calls, no callback, etc) before I was informed that my meat was, in fact, ready to be picked up... and I was told that I "should have been called." However when I got there, they informed me that the organs had not been packaged with the rest of my order and would have to be picked up the following week on Monday. I asked if I could just take the organs since they were for my chickens and dogs but they told me that they were required to package them by law. On the following Monday (more than 2 weeks after my goat was dropped off) I went through the same call ritual once again (3 calls, no callback, etc) before thew manager informed me that the organs had gone bad before they could be packaged on the previous Wednesday night and that I "should have been called" before it got to that point (this, of course, means they were ALREADY bad when I had picked up the rest of the meat the week before and they LIED to me). The owner did give me the "same weight" in beef organs gratis but that doesn't make for ALL the screw-ups along the way. Clearly there are significant systemic issues resulting from poor management and inadequate processes. The organization side of this place is clearly in need of an overhaul. We will NOT be returning to Rail 19 for the second billy (who has recovered) or for any of my future meat processing needs.

I have taken 3 cows over 18mo period. All 3 came back missing items from my order. The last time I had proof as I was given someone else's organs with their label. They told me it's a wishlist, no guarantee I get back what I asked for.

Extremely knowledgeable about their meats. They are so delicious, every cut we’ve chosen!!Thank you for taking such good care of your customers!! It’s a rare QUALITY but much appreciated!!

Took two pigs to be processed and when we picked up the first one we didn't receive all the cuts I ordered nor did I get everything back that I requested and it was written on their paperwork that I have a copy of. We have been taking pigs to be processed for 10 years now and I have brought the same size pig to another slaughter house and received bacon well this time I was told it was to small so no bacon. I fully understand I would not get a lot of bacon but to get none??? I should have opened the boxes and checked everything while there picking it up but like an idiot I didn't so yes that is on me but when I called to let them know they told me I could come back to get some of the meat that was put with my other pig meat and I told them I'm an hour and a half away so then I asked when will the other one be done and she told me she didn't know that everything was processed and ready but the meats that were to be smoked and cured...so why wasn't I offered to pick up the meat that was ready from the second pig while there to pick up the first one? I was trying them out and informed them we will have 10 more to bring in February but I can assure you I will never use this place again. I should have listened to the people who posted the bad reviews verses all the other ones, I believe the only good reviews are from people coming in to buy the products already packaged to sell. I only tried them because they had the quickest slaughter date, I should have waited for the other slaughter house.

One of our favorite places to buy beef and Heritage pork. The girls have always been so helpful with getting our meat processed in the best manner for our family! Thanks for keeping our freezer full!

Took 2 pigs there to get processed. All was good except someone that bought half of a pig had a problem with the breakfast sausage being too salty. I tried some and noticed it cooked very weird to begin with but when I tasted it,they were right it was so salty it wasn't edible. I contacted them about and they said they would get back with me. And never did. I reached out twice more and no luck. I got to say customer service is not their priority. Spent over $800 just getting the pigs processed. And bought extra stuff both times we were there. Our family has a lot time and money in these pigs. Just an apology would have went a long way.

Myself and several other farmers have went here 2-3 times each totally about 10 tines. Here's been our experience: - hanging weight suspiciously comes up way shorter that it does if we process. Usually 30+%. - some cuts missing or barely any for the size of the steer or feeder - bones not saved even when asked multiple times and put on sheets - grind being made in different flavors that requested - meat not tasting the same as when we processed ourselves. These guys have a storefront where they are selling "their" meat. I'll let you draw your own conclusions. But for our families we're done with these guys. Update: also tried some of their ground beef. It's good but tastes like it's cut with soymeal.

Fifth year using them to slaughter my steers and I have never been less than thrilled with them! From their humane treatment of the animals, the 10-day hang time to the pick up process, I’m very happy and will be back again next spring.

Been there twice. No fresh cut ribeyes only frozen. Bacon 90 % fat. Brookshires sadly offers better meat and offerings.

This is the best meat processing facility I've ever been too. Worth the 5 hr drive to get our meat processed. They went above and beyond for us. The prices are great! We couldn't have been more happy with our experience.
