I rent cars almost every month as I travel often on business. This National Rental Car offers the best rental car services. I needed a large vehicle that carry 6 people comfortably with lots of luggage. I was initially concerned that this location has less choices than Harlingen Airport and they may not be able to hold my reservation for a particular type of car as it can happen with any rental car companies. Having the right car was so important for my project that I was debating if I should fly into Brownsville ( less drive but a risk of not having a car I need) or Harlingen ( longer drive but less risky) I consulted Hector who was at the desk and expressed my concern for my next trip to Brownsville. He was kind and understood my concern. He went beyond and ensured that the right vehicle would be reserved for me. So I decided to fly into Brownsville. The vehicle he held for me was perfect. It was easy to drive and was so comfortable. I wish every rental company had "their Hector." This location is the best!! Thank you, Hector!

Reserved a vehicle weeks in advance. Called the day before and no problems. Only to arrive and they have no vehicles. Terrible customer service. They offered no solution or apologies. Do not rent from here under any circumstances.

While the people working at this facility are nice, I've had numerous rentals that are confirmed but then no car is available. The phone system then doesn't consistently work (no way to contact the facility even after trying every button combination) and so you're stuck in a position where you don't know if you'll get a car, miss the shuttle, and end up without a car and stuck at the airport.

I had a rental agreement for Minivan for3 days. Pick up was to be at 12 noon as we planned to drive to Houston to leave S.Padre Island. I called around 10am and they told me they had no car for me. What? None! I needed a car for my family as we were in midst of checking out of our hotel. I had made this reservation over 2 months ago. I was told they would call me as they had a car. I called back at 1pm. No car and no expectations of one anytime soon. Between these calls, I found a car at Harlingen airport with Hertz. I spent additional money for the taxi fare to this airport and the rental car fee. Additional cost $450! Who can send my bill to at National for not keeping my reservation??

I flew into Harlingen. I had accidently made my reservation at the Brownsville SPI Airport. I was told to go get a taxi.. I was never offered a car from Harlingen. It was, I was frazzled and in tears.I Lyfted over to Brownville where Ricardo greeted me with a smile! ( I believe that was his name). He lifted my spirits.. He has the BEST customer service, the best attitude. He completely calmed me down and my trip was so much better because of him. What a jewel. You should give him a.paid day off!

They are short of cars.I booked a small car for about 2 weeks. When I arrived, they told me they only have mini vans and trucks. I don't feel comfortable to drive a big car(also only for 1 person use). I was told to call them on Wednesday cuz they said they would have a small car. However, I called on Wednesday and also the following days, still nothing was available. After few days, no one picked up phone calls anymore. Even today I have already called a few times.

Easy reservation and fast pick up. I chose National Car Rental for the convenient one way rental as I needed to drop the car off at a different location. Out of the very few companies that offer this service, National was the most affordable and reliable. Thank you National. I had a great roadtrip/vacation!

Depending on at what time your flight comes in, the wait times to pick up a rental car can be very long. Last time I visited, there was a line of about 10 people and the National Car Rental desk was not even manned during that time. Meanwhile, there were employees sitting at the neighboring Enterprise and Budget Car Rental desks. Only after 30 minutes, the National employee finally came out and started serving customers.Really bad experience, I would go with a different company next time.

nice vehicle. Clean and well maintained. There was work at the airport so the cars were located at the far end of the facility. A little walking in the heat but not Nationals fault.

Friday July 31, 2020 I called Enterprise customer service to ask for advise. I was returning an Enterprise car rental that I had for 3 months. I wanted to rent a car to drive form Brownsville, TX to Plantation FL; I tried online but there were drop off charges-which I found extremely expensive-and the car I was dropping off had Florida tags. I talked to an Enterprise representative in Brownsville where I was returning the car. I offered to drive the same car to Florida and anted her to drop off the pdrop off charges, she said that was not possible since she didn't know what car rental in Florida the car had come from, and she said I had to find out by myself. I told her that was impossible for me to do since I had picked up the car at the airport in Brownsville. I was very disappointed with the woman. I decided to rent using National. That went really fine, since there were no additional charges. The story came really interesting when I returned the car that I had driven for three months (FL license plates). I took pictures of the vehicles in the lot and talked to an employee that had just parked an Audi, he said the car was not available for rent. I went to the National counter -which is the same as Enterprise-, returned the keys and asked for the car I was picking up. The woman said there was NOTHING available and that I had to wait at least one hour. INCREDIBLY, she offered me to drive the SAME car I had just returned (7762 miles on it). I was outraged since that was EXACTLY what I had called for 2 hours before. After a 50-minute wait, the woman said my car was ready, and guess what car she gave me, the Audi I had asked for and they said it was not available. That's why I say customer service was bad. If this is not enough, read the second paragraph.Shortly after I left Brownsville, I noted a funny noise in one of the wheels, a little bit uncomfortable for a long ride, so I decided to look for a National Enterprise on my way and ended up at the location in the Corpus Christi airport. I arrived at the counter at 6:35 pm, explained the situation to the woman and she said that I had to wait until 9:30 for a car to be returned so I could exchange cars. I found that out of place since there were many, may car out there in the lot, and I saw customers renting in the 30 minutes I was there. She said those were reservations (?). After 30 minutes, I decided to continue my journey to Florida and try to ignore the uncomfortable noise.In all, I am an Executive Elite, I use National and Enterprise almost all the year for my work through my employer.
