Best bank in town ?

Late last year (2022) I made a house payment to another bank, which holds my mortgage. A few days later, I checked my TexasBank account to be sure that the payment had been deducted from my account; it had not. Knowing that I had made the payment, I assumed that there was a just a delay in it being acknowledged by TexasBank. After two weeks it still had not been deducted from my account, so I called the mortgage bank which assured me that the payment had been received. I immediately contacted TexasBank and was told that the payment must be lost in the mail; I paid via computer. Over the next two and a half months, I made numerous calls and visits to TexasBank. I was offered a variety of excuses (of course none of them were their fault) as to what had happened to my payment. Then one day, when I didn't have enough money to cover the withdrawal; the payment was deducted from my account. No phone calls to warn me and no explanation as to what had happened were offered. Therefore, that day I had to make two house payments. In retrospect, I recall other incidences that had cost me additional money for late fees even when deposits large enough to cover payments were made on the same day as the bills were paid. They have an interesting procedure that "shuffles" balances when there seems to be no obvious reason for it. Therefore, a payment made may reappear in a different location following "the shuffle". It is curious practice. However, I am certain that somehow, someway they benefit from it. Needless to say I am looking for another bank in which to open an account. I am considering an on-line bank. My assumption is that to be competitive online, the format would need to be "cutting edge", instead of the antiquated one incorporated by TexasBank.

I was unable to get a hold of them for service regarding some charges disputed on a recent trip visiting family in PK after the holiday event 2 weekends ago, I couldn't find the help I needed online and there was no one answering the phone line, only an automated system. I ended up having to do everything online automated and it didn't feel safe since seeing all the reviews of their online system

Honestly this branch has the rudest workers and they don’t know how to handle customers. I’ve been having issues with online banking and the lady just spoke to me like I was stupid and was not helpful at all. In my honest opinion they need to hire people that actually have good customer service and are willing to work with the customer rather than get attitude. Do better.

Have had charges go through on my card, even with my card set to 'card off' on the mobile app. I had ongoing concerns about fraud on my account starting a year ago when over $600 was taken out of my account. I'm not being offered any resolution, understanding, or compassion. Very dry responses, and no above and beyond help or customer service during a difficult time. Your money is not safe at Texasbank.

The bank on Clements is open on Saturday morning, yet there is no way to call them for information. The automated system sends you in a loop, because it says it's after hours yet they are open. With the app, I have a shared account with my wife, but I can't login to the account, because of the two step verification has an issue with recognizing 2 phone number. I have to send a request to my wife to get an authorization number so that I can log in.

When I had Texas Bank, I was treated as a child because I've been out of high school for 2 years now. I never felt that anyone was helping me with my financial issues when my debit card was stolen, and not everyone but a couple people I talked to had very bad attitudes like they didn't want to deal with me trying to figure out on my own how to fix it and what my options are.
