Had a very nice latte with good, thick foam. Coffee flavor was fine. Hot chocolate was very tasty, almost like caramel flavored. Service was very good. Met the owners who were friendly and talkative. Didn't stay, but the space looks pleasant with entertaining decorations.

Like the atmosphere. However, the latte size is ridiculously small and my total was $7. Maybe for 3 sips out of it.

The vibe here is unbeatable. It is a good place to get some work done or hang with friends. The staff isn't the most organized or direct, and my drink was alright.

Yelper's criticisms of Tavo are too harsh by far.But the basic facts laid out by the other Yelpers are essentially correct.Imagine a world where espresso critics who did not like your coffeeTook you down to the basement in a horror movie,And did horrible things to you with sharp implements. If you were that barista, you might consider that treatment somewhat unfair.Assuming you lived to get out of that basement. The barista I met seems to be the "good girl" type.So she might be the teenager that gets out alive.Let's leave aside the comments of reviewers who murder if their coffee is not quite right. How is Tavo as a place to go?***********As the reviewers say, the room is beautiful.Really beautiful. If I lived in Bryan, I could see working all day and all night at that place.Sweet Eugene's wanted to be the cool room with funky decoration.Tavo really IS the cool room with the funky decoration.Of particular note is the large sculptural/architectural construction in the far back room, that looks like the tailpipes of 38 automobiles made of PVC and painted odd turquoise-y colors. But the random paintings on the wall are particularly well done -and there are lots of nooks and crannies for interesting nook and crannying.Visually, the place is entertainment on a stick.* * *Note that finding a coffee house with good art Is like finding a boyfriend who admires you deeply and really understands your hopes and fears. You don't rid of such a boyfriend lightly.I have had to go to ophthamologists to overcome the eye damage I have suffered from looking at the paintings in rival coffee houses. So I take a well done artistic workspace very seriously.* * *How is the coffee?Uh ...er ...It won't kill you.* * *I go to coffee houses to get work done.I go to houses to be in a room that sets off my creativity and allows me to do my best writing or my best thinking. If the coffee or food is really good, so much the better. But what goes into your mouth does nothing for improving your productivity, short of providing a clinical dose of caffeine or sugar. What goes into your eyes does everything for improving your productivity. So what do you do if you have a beautiful place with ho hum coffee?Order cafe au lait and sneak in your own bag of cookies.* * *In real life, you do not choose people to bed or places to live because of simple physical beauty.Beauty fades.True merit persists. However, when you are picking a place to get work done,Beauty actually does the work. Food or beverage problems can be worked around. It is like going to a museum. The museum cafeteria might be uninspiring. But the Frank Stellas on the wall and the Brutalist staircase that takes you to the second floor ...Those take your spirit to a higher level.* * *Think of Tavo as a feast for your eyes. And if you go down to the basement, Unchain that poor barista who has been put there.I hope she has not lost too much blood. We need her for the sequel.

really cute shop but the lattes were very underwhelming, imagine a latte with no espresso, only milk, a sad cup of milk.

This is pretty good coffee if you get the standard milk and drink it fast before it gets watered down. Although it is very waterh and not sweet at all if you choose oat milk. We ordered "for here" and upon receiving the coffee, it was in a very small cup, mostly filled with ice, and the type that melts very quickly. It didn't feel like I got a $5 sized coffee. I had gotten the Honey Cinnamon Iced latte before, and it's great if you take it to go. I asked what options they had for food and they had a turkey sandwich with muenster cheese, a sausage and cheese type of kolache, and a blueberry muffin. I decided to go for the sandwich thinking it would be ~$6-$7. My total was $16 for the coffee and sandwich So the sandwich with a side a fruit was basically $10. It shocked me quite a bit, but it was a great and made fresh, just not the price I was expecting. Overall, a nice place, so many seating options, and very quiet too. My friend and I were having issues with the wi-fi though, it would be connected with the exclamation point in the middle of the wi-fi bar, so we had to use our hotspot. Pretty unfortunate to not have access to working wi-fi after paying for a meal and coffee.

The cutest coffee shop! Espresso was delicious and well presented. There is tons of sunlight, plants, and eclectic art to enjoy. This the perfect place to spend the morning doing homework. I'll be back for sure!!

Coffee, but not for coffee people. As a former Barista I can say without a doubt this is some of the most underwhelming espresso I've ever had.First thing is the flow, when you walk through the door the entry way to the seating is blocked by the line for ordering, when you find yourself squeezing though people to get through.*Secondly, they only do 1 size for all their coffee, so if you wanted to pay more for a large, you are out of luck.*Third. The girl who took our order was very short with us and rude, she messed up on our drink order but it's fine, I've had my share as well so I understood. But when we corrected her she seemed bothered and annoyed as she handed the remade drinks we original requested, but now with different milk and no flavoring.not really how i wanted to start my morning. Last but not least the coffee, or if there was any to begin with. The double espresso was so watered down it had almost no taste. Now I've only had around a thousand lattes not to mention have made plenty myself. But this is probably one of the worst ones yet.Ended up throwing away half full.Hopefully they can up their game in the future. But for now Drink at your own risk.

It's so nice to see places like this popping up around the city. After visiting the farmers market. I decided to stop by for a latte. Upon walking in the two gentleman working kindly greeted me, and asked me if I have ever been here before. After saying no. They gave a quick rundown of coffee and where it's sourced. They mentioned they do pour over which I thought was super cool, and unique in my opinion. Their alternative milk selection stood out to me because I've absolutely never seen pistachio milk. I knew I had to try it. While I waited for my coffee I took a look around. The spot is cozy and set up really nice. It accommodates those stopping in quickly. To those who need space to study. In the very back of the store. There's a kitchen that serves towards parties, and a few other things. The only complaint I have about that place is there are no actual Vegan menu options. By the time I got back to the front my coffee was ready for me. This was hands down one of the best lattes I've ever had!! Usually I'm sad when I don't get sweetener added to my coffee since most of the time it's really bitter or super bland. That was not the case with this cup of coffee. It was love at first sip. Thank you Tavo, and the wonderful baristas for creating such a magical experience. It's evident the person who left the one star review just wanted to complain. So they created a false, negative review that does not describe the wonderful baristas, the amazing coffee, or the gorgeous set up this shop has. Go see for yourself, and you too will find your new favorite coffee shop. I recommend a latte made with pistachio milk ;)

employees were weird af and coffee shop was confusing. as soon as you walk in, you're at the register to order and employees didn't really even acknowledge me or anything.. wasn't sure if i was supposed to order there or not. when i got my coffee i asked for a straw and the employee rudely reminded me that the coffee cup already comes with a "sip lid". like okay cool i still want a straw.. will not ever be going back.

Such a great new coffee shop with a phenomenal bakery in the back - The Wild Grain! Highly recommend the iced matcha and the blueberry muffin as well as the Chorizo sandwich (hot tip: ask to add egg to the sandwich)!

Cute little coffee shop on the main drag! I've been trying to stop by this place at least once a month since moving to BCS a few months ago but they are never open. This time, I happened to catch them! It's on a quieter side of the Main Street, down by Blackwater Brewing. You can tell they're shifting their business model from proof of concept/mobile to dedicated store front, and doing it on a limited, mom & pop budget. When I stopped by, I was one of 4 people there. They have TONS of seating, inside and outside. It's decent seating but not really designed for people to sit and stay. The barista had a hard time locating the wifi when I stopped by because evidently "stealing wifi" is a big problem...On to the coffee! It's pretty good, but the vanilla latte I ordered wasn't necessarily very vanilla. Also, I get a little worried that the latter I order won't be was tasty when I don't hear baristas grind beans but am getting the idea that's a common thing 'round these parts. Great little spot that I hope sticks around! Two side-bar things: 1) I'd be surprised if they didn't shift to add alcohol/happy hour at night. It's a perfect location for a lounge type place with have lots of hidden nooks & with the lofts coming in, I"m sure they'd appeal to a different kind of clientele. 2) As a working professional that's been working from home, I'm a bit bummed they're turning the back area into a sandwich/bakery shop instead of a coworking space.
