I never write reviews but I've been coming to Karen for a long time and she deserves it. Karen gives good haircuts and has that familiar Asian auntie energy, which feels like a lucky find out here in B/CS!
Not every stylist can be trusted with cutting Asian hair (iykyk). When I first moved here, I cut my own hair for over a year before gathering up the courage to give Karen a try. That was two years ago and I haven't gone to anyone else since. Whenever I have something going on (professional events, weddings, etc.), I make sure to come in beforehand and Karen always sets me up right.
So, if you're new in town and have the same worries I did (or if you're tired of driving to Houston for haircuts), definitely give Karen a try!

Got a trendy Asian mullet hairstyle. It's amazing! The lady here can cut your hair to look just like the picture you show her! Every step of the haircut is done with great care to protect you in every detail. She’s amazing! Highly recommend getting your hair cut here！

Recently moved to the area and found this salon nearby. After reading the excellent reviews, I decided to give it a try — and I’m so glad I did. The price was great, and Karen Hung gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. And that’s saying a lot — I’ve been getting monthly haircuts for decades, and I’m in my mid-60s. Highly recommended!

My family and I have been going to Star Salon since we came to College Station. As Asian, she has been the only one who comes close to the way the hair being cut back home. I have read other reviews and saw pictures and complains. Based on some hair dressers I talked to from IL, and Florida, depending on the person hair type and nationality, not all hair design will fit anyone. The only thing a hairdresser do either explain it carefully, cut it close to the style the customer likes, or turn the customer away. As for customer, either go to a different salon or just let your hair grow out.
Overall, we are happy with her service and I encourage to support our local business owners.

Second time here for hair dye. Pretty nice quality and service! Also did a gentle and careful hair wash without excessive usage of the nails -- pretty considerate.

Worst possible experience ever with hair salon. I gave pretty specific instructions yet she doesn't listen but just cut my hair the way she think fit. Literally everyone around me later asked where did you get a hair cut this awful. She pulled the collar of my T-shirt really hard to get rid of the hair which was literally damaging my T-shirt. She also held the hair dryer so close to my head which was burning

Karen is very skillful and fast at hair cutting. I Came here twice and both times good service, punctual, efficient. She also gives hairstyling advice according to the height, hair type etc. very practical advices.
Make reservations, and wash hair before coming.
