Have nothing but praise for our Hays HS. Thank you Mr Pierce for coming out and assuring me our concern was addressed and handled; and just like you said; it was. Thank you so very much and also praise to Counselor Ms. Zulma Hernandez-Ramirez. Top notch!!!

Experience after experience has shown me that this school is full of uncaring, incompetent people from the teachers to office staff. It was like PULLING TEETH to even get a new student registered here and I had to get A LOT of people involved to make it happen. And we started the enrollment process at least a month before school was to start. They didn't respond to our questions in a timely manner nor do they have manners here at all. Rude rude rude. I had to make sure we never again dealt with a certain individual after she gave us serious misinformation that cost us A LOT of time. We also had several experiences with bullies at this school who never got in trouble for their behavior and were instead treated as the victims!!I have never been happier to get away from a school. If you have a choice about where your child goes to school, I'd make sure it's not here. They act like they DO NOT want any new students at this school and certainly didn't make my child feel welcome in any way.

This school is garbage. The stress that teachers put on students is so great that many of my peers suffer with a multitude of mental health issues related to stress. In addition, several of the teachers are incompetent, especially in the English department. One of them tried to convince me that the suffix -ing was a root word, that water is sentient, and said in class that a gay student needs to "go to church." Overall, the school is a terrible environment, which led to me transferring to an online high school program.

Great thanks to teachers like Chris Gardner and others like him who force communism upon students and make attempts brainwash them and restrict free speech.

As a graduate of the class of 17, Hays had potential but lacked enforcement, had all these rules in place such as the hat rule, colored hair, and other rules, only a few of the staff enforced it. They were sneaky about stuff, says it's a no place for hate campus, as there are about 8 banners that hang in the cafeteria, but kids still get bullied, it's a strict policy to be a no place for hate school, and I know this from being in Student council for about 3 years. It's not easy. Also I know that it is required by the Hays CISD and the Texas education policy, but there too pushy about passing the standardized test. Also some of the teachers were not so flexible about tutoring hours.
