It looks like a real interesting place but was closed when I arrived on Christmas Eve. I hope to make it back some day to see all the buildings and walk the grounds.

Very nice and informative historical site. Great price for all that was offered. Really enjoyed the self walking tour to go at your own pace.

From Buffalo Gap Historic Village
Minutes south of Abilene, nestled in picturesque Buffalo Gap, is an authentic historic village. Not a replica, but actual furnished buildings from the 1870s - 1920s representing the last 50 years of the West Texas frontier. The buildings in the Buffalo Gap Historic Village are an educational and fascinating mix. They include the original county courthouse, a log cabin, the first lumber house in the county, schoolhouse, train depot, filling station, bank, doctor’s office, barbershop, print shop, chapel and others that were moved from their original West Texas locations to showcase how the frontier developed over time. Each building is filled with furniture and artifacts to help visitors today visualize and experience life in an earlier time.
