Trying to spend a quiet afternoon right before the eclipse in the backcountry of my home state of Texas. Along the way I was almost accosted by some local lawman trying to keep the peace, and if you're going to be down this way just make sure that you follow the rules and you know it's worth it. Anyway I ran into Old Hill Country Store which was the first gas station on the left coming in from the last doordash order I had delivered . And I tell you what it's probably one of the best stops I've made in a long time. I'm talking friendly friendly friendly Texas friendly it's worth the stop. Right across the street from hatch Cafe and Bakery monster liked that store. he even got treats!!

Sadly, not sure if this is a family run business. Two young teenagers running the register couldn’t seem to keep it professional. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other with customers in the store. Very unprofessional behavior. An older young man who I think was the manager, didn’t say a word to them. Sadly this is the way society’s direction is heading to. Instead of being frisky in the store, they should spend sometime cleaning the store.

Convenient place, fair gas price for the area, pumps outside seem new, it can be a snug fit sometimes if theres more than 2 cars there.
