I've taken my car and my dad's car to service here a few time. They get me in right away! Their prices are very reasonable. I once had them work on my dad's AC unit. I didn't get off work till 5p and had to drive well across town to get my dad's car and pay for their services. They waited for me even tho they were officially closed! I've always had great experiences with JNT! Would highly recommend.

Business was recommended to me. I was new in the area so was looking for recommendations. So pleasant to do business with this husband/wife team. Go out if their way to meet my schedule and very reasonably priced. Never had a problem with the car issue after they did the repair. Highly recommend.

I was out it town and had a problem with my A/C in my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I called the only name I recognized, "Big O Tire" and asked if they could work on the A/C. They didn't have the ability. Being out of town and terrified of mechanics, I asked Big O for a referral. They sent me to JNT. It was late in the day but I called and the nicest woman said they'd take a look. John from JNT came out and started by checking my cabin filter. Then he spent about 30 minutes checking things out and somehow got it going. It was a blockage somewhere. He says "looks good, thanks for coming by." I'm like: "can I pay you? I must owe you something!" No dice. I grew up in a small town and it was like I was their neighbor or something. Thank you JNT! I cannot say enough good things about you!

Get all my mechanic work done here. Took it in telling them I needed a new wheel bearing which would usually cost hundreds and they could've totally ripped me off but it turns out it was a missing pin that only costs 15$ Honest people that do honest work.

This is the place to go!!!! John and his wife are very kind and honest!! My outcome with my car didn't turn out good only because it ended up needing a new engine and financially I can't afford to get one but they went above and beyond to help me. I have already given business cards out to family and friends! I know I'll be back and I'm pretty sure they will be getting new customers!!!

Sorry about the long review, but it needs to be stated. The primary reason I took my vehicle to get serviced from J&T was for an engine light and difficulty refueling. After paying for a vent valve, the problem was not solved. I took it back and was told it was the charcoal canister, that seemed to fix the problem with fueling at the gas station; however, I started smelling gasoline fumes. Took it back AGAIN! They repositioned the vent valve to another location which seemed like it worked, but then the problem with refueling started. No engine light was on so I took it to get smogged, surprisingly it passed. After a couple weeks, the engine light was on again, I called to reschedule and was told to by a mechanic to bring it in anytime. I knew that I could drive it without damaging the vehicle since it was only the same evap leak code and it didn't have any driving symptoms. I finally had TIME and took it to get a motor mount replaced, and asked if they could check the engine code from months back. They said it was the wrong gas cap! One I had purchased from an O'Reilly's Auto store way before my vehicle was ever serviced here. I put my old one on and the light came on AGAIN. I took it back to them for the diagnostic, and was told it's the fuel pressure sensor, I didn't have the funds for it so I told them I'd need to bring it back. The owner must've forgot I had my vehicle serviced by them before because he told me my vent valve should be changed along with the pressure sensor since they were gonna be working in that area. I was baffled by the rerun, and had told him over the phone that he serviced it already. I went to pick up my vehicle the next morning since he felt the need to call me after their shop was already closing??? Pretty shady of you ask me. They wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee for a problem they never fixed long ago. I understand a business needs to make money, but that charge should've been covered by the previous visit made a week or two ago where I paid to get my motor mount replaced and get the engine light diagnosed. I understood I should've brought my vehicle in sooner, but with the amount of times I had to bring it back is ridiculous. He then told me that he didn't want to service my vehicle when I told him I would be back in a week or two with the funds. I service my vehicle with the simple stuff like oil changes, brake jobs, but he claimed I went and replaced something that would make the SAME engine code popup. He could've simply said him and his two shade tree mechanics didn't want to go thru the extensive work to fix their half job. The reason they're called shade tree mechanics is because a legit mechanic wouldn't leave spilled chemicals over a customer's engine bay and not clean it up, or break off a splash guard because they see its easier than removing the remaining fasteners. After thinking about the amount of work they did, why wasn't my gas cap one of the first problems he inspected? Save your TIME and MONEY. Too bad there isn't an option for 0 stars.

I live in San Francisco but visit Merced frequently. I've compared prices and Yelp reviews between the two cities. What I've found with JNT, and most other Auto Repair facilities in Merced, is there are far more positive reviews and pricing that's WAY more affordable. JNT Automotive is right up there with the best of them. In SF I was quoted a VERY high price for AC repair/servicing that included REPLACING the AC compressor on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Track! To be fair, they did not charge me for their time. John diagnosed the problem and charged, what I considered to be, a very fair price for the AC service & an oil/filter change. JNT Automotive is a family run shop, everyone is friendly and every detail of the repair is explained in a way that's understandable. The shop is NOT the uber clean, sterile scene you might see at some high priced "boutique" operation so don't expect a lattes on tap or the latest copy of Forbes. wifi? I didn't ask. It is however, a clean, well organized shop and my vehicle was returned to me as clean as when I turned it over to John and his crew I've worked in the Auto Repair Industry for 30+ years so I kinda know who to turn my keys over to for repair work and when I should just put it in reverse and back away. JNT Automotive will very likely see my vehicle again in the future, Thanks John!

This shop is over priced!! They gave me a diagnostic on my car. The so called "issues" they priced at $2095.41! I was absolutely shocked considering I had just taken my car to the dealership for an oil change and diagnostic test 2 weeks prior. The woman in the office and the owner of the shop were extremely passive aggressive towards me, to the point where I felt like they were taking advantage of the fact that I was a young woman who doesn't know much about cars. I took my car to another shop and provide the mechanic with the diagnostic report that JNT gave me. There was 5 things that needed to be fixed on my car not 12 like JNT Automotive reported. The other shop estimated roughly $1000 for repairs! That's another grand or so that JNT Automotive shop was going to charge me. That's absolutely insane!! Trust me. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. OR MONEY. Please shop around for better automotive shops. I don't want anyone else to be taken advantage like I was.

Always reliable, always fast service. I'm always satisfied, whether I need an oil change or new motor mounts. They're consistently cheaper than other services, and I find that they don't try to up sell me on anything I don't really need. That's really the most important thing in a mechanic for me: They are HONEST! I've stopped going anywhere else for my car before I go to them. Even if my transmission goes out, I'm asking them for advice. And they offer shuttle service to and from. Love these guys. One of my favorite businesses in town.
