I was really impressed with my visit today. I bought a Stihl weed eater today. It was already put together, I had one man demonstrate the line feed, another person entered me in the computer for warranty. Then they took it to there service department to put fuel in it and start it. It just doesn’t get any better, plus they will service it for me.Happy Customer

Was not happy with it being an ace hardware but not able to use my gift card due to the different owner. Was still an ace hardware so it should have been honored.

We have been shopping at this store for quite some time now. The lumber yard usually has what we need, not always great quality of finish. Some tools and supplies can be a bit pricey if you compare them to other stores. The lower priced paints are inexpensive for a reason. Not all the paint and primer products are of good quality. Prime your materials before painting. Overall a good experience and the employees are friendly and helpful.

NOT AG FRIENDLYI occasionally need supplies for the upkeep of my cattle ranch. I have a state AG sales tax exemption card and completed the necessary paperwork at this Ace store to receive my tax exemption. I am an honest person and only use my exemption on ranch supplies. Despite this, Higginbotham’s will only allow my tax exemption on items THEY determine to be AG related. For instance, my livestock pipe fence was in need of a new paint job, so I purchased a gallon of paint along with rollers, brushes and other misc painting supplies. The cashier honored the exemption on the paint (only because it was oil based), but refused to honor it on the painting supplies. Makes no sense. Two weeks later, I bought metal braces to reinforce my homemade cattle feeders. Again, Higginbotham’s refused to honor my tax exemption. I now drive to Home Depot in Terrell. They have never once questioned my tax exemption. You would think a hardware store in a small farming town would be more in tune with AG folks than a big box store 20 miles away, but this is NOT the case with Higginbotham’s.

I got some chain for my bird feeders and they had an awesome sale on wild bird seed the store was very clean and the staff was very helpful

We could not find what we wanted at Home Depot. Came here and found exactly what we needed. The entire staff was great. New to east atexas area. They just gained a new customer.

Store is well stocked but hate shopping there. Everyone that walks in or drives into their yard is assumed a thief. If they ever get competition, they are sunk. The high prices should allow for less obvious monitoring. I am a customer, not an enemy.

Ace is a great place and has improved over the last few years they carry a wide variety of hardware, tools, home improvement items and alot more.
