We recently had to go through a heartbreaking situation with our cat who broke her leg very badly. While we were not sure what to do, we called around seeking the opinions of several vets in the area. The most sincere and honest people we talked to were at Startz Veterinary. From the get go, they were willing to work with us to figure out a solution that worked for our pet (who they treated as a family member and not just another patient.)
We are very thankful for the expertise of Dr. Kaufman, the kindness of Marissa, and the caring shown by all the staff. They have officially become our vet and we highly recommend them (not sure how people could post anything but positive reviews since everyone was treated well while we were there.) Lucy has recovered and is living her best life thanks to all of you!

I have 4 Yorkshire Terriers that have seen Dr. Kaufman for at least 13 years. I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Kaufman, he has gone above my expectations for the care of my dogs. However, my recent experience was not stellar. My dog fell ill a few weeks ago and I had an emergency visit with another veterinarian. He was treated for GI infection and after a week things did not improve. I called back to get him rescheduled with Dr.Kaufman since he is the dog's vet and was told he was not available. I was given more GI medication that still did not help. I took the dog to another clinic to find out my beloved pet has prostate cancer. I called back to Startz Vet so I could speak to Dr. Kaufman about the dog's diagnosis and was told I would be charged for a phone consultation if I wanted to speak to Dr. Kaufman! I didn't need to have the dog re-examined, just wanted to let his vet know the outcome. I never received a phone call back. The level of compassion and understanding has declined and it seems money is the only thing this that is important to them now. Very disappointed.

The Vet and the techs are amazing. The front desk is where I seem to only have the issue. I've received attitude when requesting a detail of each immunization. For those of you who board, you know that other boarding resorts require this.

tanner and dr. serafine are earth angels. they made it the easiest process in making the hardest decision to let our baby go with dignity. we are heart broken but thankful for their support and care for our sweet, sweet baby. we will definitely be seeing them when we’re ready for another fur baby.

I have been bringing my pets here for years. The Doc and staff have always been amazing. I recently went to a pet ER and they fed me a bunch of half truths about the status of my Cat of 15 years. I came to startz vet and the dog was great gave me the truth when it hurt and didn’t try and take me to the cleaners for an animal that couldn’t be saved….

Recently changed to a late penalty where if you are 5 - 15 minutes late they will charge you $15 - $30. Yet no discount if they make you wait for pet care. They state their cancelation policy in their appt confirmation text but don't tell you about the over 5 minute late fee charge you will incurr if you can't locate them on your first trip or get tied up in traffic.
Customers were not texted or emailed about the new late fee policy and the amount varies depending on who you talk to about making an appt. Three different staff members stated three different amounts. One said $25 one said $30 and a Vet who was acting manager said $15. That's why the policy with correct amounts and time constraints needs to be included in the appt. confirmation text. And customers deserve to be informed of the late fee policy before they need to make an a
pointment.
UPDATE: They now refuse to book an appt for me because I complained

Dr. Kauffman, and his staff are amazing. They have been treating our five rescues for about eleven years. Great atmosphere, very friendly from front to back, and I never have to wait for answers. I would give them a hundred stars all around. ?❤️??

All the employees are so nice and made Rosie (my dog) and I feel so comfortable. Rosie did even seem to be bothered by the vaccinations she received. It was a great experience for us both.

Everyone here has always been wonderful with my dogs including one with special needs and requires constant contact with me and they always take good care to calm him down.
My little one absolutely loves it there!

This vet used to be our go to vet. They were new to the area, seemed loving of our animals and concerned with their clients. Recently, they showed their true colors. We had a beautiful, loving and amazing Great Pyr. She did nothing but love and protect us. She recently came to the end of her road in life and was having seizures and actively dying. My husband contacted the vet explained the situation, and they said "we are too busy to help you". He called back, after he loaded her into the car and despite his grief, concern and emotional pain, they repeated the same. Too busy to help. He was forced to drive this sweet animal who was in severe pain and suffering 30 min to NB Vet. They had only seen her to take lab, but they told him to come straight away and they embraced him and Luna with all the grace and dignity she and he deserved. Startz Vet's indignant attitude caused her to suffer in the most inconceivable way and in my opinion, this dispicable abhorrent behavior is unforgiveable. We have been loyal to this company with our many dogs for a decade or more. If this is how they treat animals and clients, they do not deserve to have either. We have changed to Nb Vet who came through for us and our loving Luna when it meant the absolute most.
