Simply an amazing place! An amazing selection of animals! As my partner and I drove there, we had an image of our perfect dog. Small dog, extra-long legs for athletic pursuits, high energy, black fur, short hair, low frequency of barking, housebroken and friendly personality to both humans and other dogs. We understood that all these traits combined would be unrealistic but OMG we found them all in one amazing package! We love him more each day! He is completely aerodynamic and athletic. Please adopt, don't shop! You will be surprised with the selection you will find here. Also, the staff is very supportive and friendly.

Adopted my first cat (Kunfi) here a month ago and I would come again for my next cat. The adoption process was simple and my cat, despite having a couple of health issues prior to adoption, was well taken care of and remains healthy and happy. Staff was friendly/helpful and I was able to take my cat home the same day under foster first (even though I knew I wanted to keep her forever as soon as I met her, it was nice to have that option just in case it somehow wasn't a good fit). Highly recommend this facility when looking to adopt a new pet.

Everyone who works there is always so friendly. I went to donate some supplies my cats had outgrown. They helped me get them out of my car, and we're so appreciative of the items.
I adopted my 1st cat from them many years ago, and I'm so glad they're still in business.

We adopted Tinley and had the most amazing experience at Operation Kindess! The staff/volunteers were super kind and helpful. Tinley is a bright light in our life and we are lucky to have found her xoxo

Adopted a cat from here. He was 1 years old when we adopted him. The cat is precious and awesome. Adoption process frictionless.
We noticed a shortness of breath upon adoption. This place said he was fine after 2 checks and keeping him overnight, just a lil anxiety they said… 2 other opinions & 10 vet visits later… 2 surgery visits… $10k later… plaque and tartar, 3 rotten teeth, & hernia.
all the vets (not from operation kindness) said he was in some of the worst shape they’d seen from an adoption shelter for a 1 year old.
Operation kindness was basically letting this cat rot to death in stead of taking care of him. A no kill shelter that just lets the pets rot instead of take care of them, that is cruel. This place should be investigated.
What is most sad is a lot of people in DFW recommend this place.

This review is way overdue (a year…), but better late than never! We showed up a little over an hour before closing, and all of the staff were eager to help us out. It was pretty busy, so we were left to peruse their wall of adoptable cats. I’d had a cat in mind when we got there, but they said I could meet a few, so I selected some other cats that sounded like they might fit in with our other cats. We ended up waiting a fairly long time due to how busy it was and it was getting closer to closing, but a staff member finally came to get us and apologized for the wait. I finally got to meet the little boy I’d been interested in initially, but was informed they wanted him adopted to a single cat household due to being FIV positive. One of the other cats I’d said I was interested in was Electron (part of a litter with Neutron and Proton).
Thank god I got to meet Electron! As soon as the staff member opened his kennel, he immediately climbed onto me. He was placed back in the kennel but climbed back onto my shoulders. I was asked if I wanted to meet the other cats, but Electron had clearly decided he was coming home with us. At this point, it was past closing time, so I was informed that we would need to come back in the morning first thing as they were having a huge adoption event the next day. I was anxious about someone else likely adopting Electron, but I understood. The staff member then said “You all waited so long and were so patient, so you know what… let’s do this adoption.” This shelter was kind enough to work a good half-hour after closing to fill out the adoption paperwork for Electron. It’s so clear how much they care about their animals and that they go to good homes.
This turned out to be a huge stroke of luck, because the next day I believe they cleared the kennels during their event (incredible!) Not only were they gracious enough to stay open so that we could adopt this little dude, but once we got his medical records it became even more apparent that they work SO hard for these animals. Electron’s entire litter seemed to have GI issues, and the records showed how much they’d been treated by the shelter and how carefully they were monitored until they improved. And after a little scare we had with Electron a few months later where he was deemed “kind of off in a lot of weird ways; a medical anomaly,” it’s amazing they were able to keep this secretly sickly kitten in such good health at the shelter.
His name is Pickle Rick now (Pickle for short) because my wife thought it was funny, and he’s totally fine. He’s still a medical anomaly, but he’s OUR medical anomaly. I truly can’t thank Operation Kindness enough for making that decision to stay open a little longer so that we could adopt this guy.
