Brookshire Brothers is an employee-owned grocery chain based in Lufkin, Texas, serving over 40,000 square miles in Texas and Louisiana with more than 120 locations. The stores include traditional grocery and express shops, as well as pharmacy, petro, and tobacco outlets. Customers appreciate the clean stores, friendly and courteous staff, and the variety of food choices. Many find it a convenient place to shop, especially in rural areas. However, some note that prices are higher than competitors like HEB, and the produce, especially peppers, can be disappointing. The beer selection is praised, and there are good bargains in clearance areas. While some wish for more steak and cheese options, overall, it remains a popular, community-driven grocery spot.
