Always a line at checkout because they only use 2 of the 8 self checkouts. The customer service is marginal at best. To be fair, this seems to be only at this location (Waxahatchi and Desoto locations are much better).

buyer beware - I bought a bespoke refrigerator about two and a half years ago with the five year extended warranty and home depot now uses Allstate warranty company. The refrigerator runs in the 40-50 degree range so I called to get service. First I was told that I needed to defrost the unit before anyone could help me, then it took 2 more weeks to get service scheduled. THE BIG DEAL I have to pay for the service call, diagnosis and repairs and then get reimbursed by Allstate. OMG So I paid $300 for a warranty to turn around and pay over $200+ more for warranty repairs, so much for getting a warranty since I could not afford costly repairs! I might as well have bought a cheaper scratch and dent with no warranty at another store with all this out of pocket and not having a fridge for almost 3 weeks! I could just have bought a new one instead. Just awful knowing that I also have a dishwasher and washer/dryer combo now with Home Depot and if they need service, I am going to be out $ again!!

I could live at Home Depot. Probably in the garden section. I dont know why I like going there so much since I dont know how to fix anything. I guess it's the hope that one day I will learn, and I'll already know where to get my supplies.

Does no one watch curbside when they get here? I waited for 45 minutes before I just went inside and grabbed it myself. I do curbside cuz im disabled and have a hard time getting in and out of the car. This happens every time

Hi Neighbors!
I’ve been coming to the Cedar Hill Home Depot around 20 years now and I can only think of 2 times that I have had a bad experience. I’m an avid DIY’er so Home Depot is my happy place! I may visit LOWES if I can’t find what I need at Home Depot but that’s rarely the case. Home Depot seems to have very high quality supplies and more knowledgeable employees, willing to help. And that standard is not just limited to Cedar Hill but follows through to any branch I have been to, all the way to Lafayette and New Orleans, La as well. But sticking with the Cedar Hill location, there is the constant ring of “Hi, can I help you with something” in your ears. That being said, let me give you just a few examples, as I really wanted to thank a few Home Depot employee anyway. First up is Ms Gloria!! She’s amazing at helping you find the right paint color and sheen. She’s very patient as she ask good questions inorder to make sure she understands what your needs are. She knows the paint department top to bottom, and she knows how to multitask in order to help move the customers along. As busy as the paint department stays, I’ve never seen her upset nor a disgruntled customer. I can’t thank her enough!! Next is Steve, thanks a bunch for helping me with my lawnmower rental. The store was very busy and it took a minute to get someone to the rental section. But once Steve got there it was a smooth transaction. He even apologized to other customers who were waiting as he helped get the mower loaded into my SUV. There is also Mr Willie and Martay, working in appliances. Mr Willie gave me great information on choosing a deep freezer. And Martay loaded it onto a flatbed, pushed it to checkout and then loaded it into my SUV for me. There was even a smile and “have a blessed day” as he was leaving. Then there’s Jeff in the hardware section who helped me match up screws needed for furniture. I really enjoyed our chat as he helped me understand furniture Refinishing. There’s also Grumpy Shane, who comes off as Eeyore but is very knowledgeable about the hardware screws and the electrical tools. Thank you Jeff and Shane and ALL of the Home Depot employees. You guys makes it pleasantly easy to shop the Cedar Hill Home Depot.
Lastly, I want to address a comment I read about safety at this Cedar Hill location. While I don’t want to detract from that customers experience, in 20 years I have NEVER seen a homeless person loitering here. I have NEVER seen or experienced the slightest form of criminal intent, not as much as harsh words amongst customers themselves. The only concern I have regarding safety is the basic concern of being a female out at night. And that internal concern keeps me on guard no matter where I am. So, thanks again to ALL of the employees here at the Cedar Hill Home Depot! You guys are the BEST!!

WORST HOME DEPOT EVER. Workers are rude as hell and don’t know their job. This store is a joke. Lowe’s would never. I will rather drive to Arlington or Grand Prairie Home Depot before I ever patronize this place again. My pick up order was never full filled and all I got was the run around with excuses and rude customer service. NEVER again.

Placed an order online for curbside pick up and waited hours for the merchandise. When I attempted to call for an update; it was impossible to get a hold of someone. The phone rang but no one answered.
I have been a credit card holder over 5 years but will be closing my account and taking my business to Lowe’s.

Liked their plant selection, didn't like how the second you get to your car, super shady homeless people bum rush you. Felt very unsafe there, as it was me and my kids. Man would not leave after telling him several times to go away, so I had to get loud before he finally was afraid someone would witness it. Would never return to this location. Not safe.
