I jog regularly there for the last five years. Very nice hiking trail, wide mostly paved path, shaded nearly everywhere, there are three lakelets along the trail and it runs past a number of different neighborhood parks, so as you can expect it gets a bit crowded, and it is very much a family crowd. The bicyclers are well behaved and not a problem at all.
It is long enough for a good jog, not too steep except for a short segment at a dam.
Starting at Twin Lakes YMCA to Shirley McDonald park there are six community parks and a little over 6.5 miles of trail.
They have extended the trail so to the far end of it you get about 6.75 miles, so out and back gives you a full half marathon if you are into that.

The lake path is full sun, but towards the back where all the play items are such as playgrounds, bocce ball, splash pad, etc. is pretty shady. From the parking lot, if you go right, you’re going to head under the highway, making it a very noisy pathway. Going left is much more serene. if you are a people person, you will find the people very grumpy here. Sadly. I want to call it the grumpy trail.

Lake trash hole. Smells like poop. Other than that great place to walk around and my kids love the amenities.

Brushy Creek Lake Park is seriously awesome! It's such a peaceful and refreshing place to visit. If you go in the morning, you'll see the most amazing sunrises over the calm little lake, just painting the sky with colors.
They have these really long, well maintained trails perfect for hiking or biking. Whether you want a good workout or just a nice, relaxed walk to enjoy nature, these trails are great. The paved paths are super smooth and offer some pretty views, so they're good for serious bikers and people just out for a stroll.
What's cool about Brushy Creek Lake Park is how much you can do there. It's perfect for family picnics – tons of grassy spots to spread out a blanket and have lunch outside. And if you like being on the water, the lake is so calm for kayaking, a really peaceful way to explore the area.
It's also a go-to spot if you're active. Lots of people come here for walking, jogging, and running, since the trails are long enough to really stretch your legs. Cyclists will love the dedicated biking paths; it's a smooth and fun ride.
They even have a handy BBQ area, which makes it easy to grill up some food with friends and family. Plus, there are clean restrooms and plenty of parking, which is always a bonus.
But maybe the best part? It's totally free to enjoy! That makes it super accessible for everyone in the community. Honestly, from the beautiful scenery to all the different activities, Brushy Creek Lake Park is a fantastic place to get outdoors, and I totally recommend it.

Great park with awesome trails. 😍the lake is great for canoeing and watching the wildlife is always a treat 💛
We bike here often as a family and find myself along with my friends choosing this park for walks and biking most of the time.
Also great parks for the spending a relaxed time during the weekends.
They even have very good amenities. We did have a birthday party in one of the picnic spots a year ago and it was a blast 💛🌸✨lots of options for kids to play around during the birthday party. 🥳

We enjoyed coming to this park for a party. The water didn't get turned on until 10 though so we ended up staying later so the kids could have plenty of water play time.
