Great bbq spot. I love the baked potatoes. Frito pie is great as well. Prices are decent and the place is very clean.

This place is a classic BBQ joint. Legend is that some of the owners of other BBQ restaurants in the area were trained at DJ's. Given how long DJ's has been here, that seems likely. The serving area appeared quite clean and the staff were very helpful. The brisket stuffed baked potato was delicious and big enough to share.

I ordered from the menu I saw online, which should have been around $32 total. When I picked up my order, they said it was $56. So I grabbed a menu on my way out to see what was so expensive. The meat by the pound is double the price.

Food was great. The chopped beef sandwich or pulled pork are great. The coleslaw here is great. And the potato salad is the best I’ve ever had. Friendly service and a very clean restaurant. If you have blood pressure issues (see review below this one) maybe you shouldn’t be eating BBQ in the first place and then complaining about it and dragging a nice local establishment down with your negativity. Just sayin’.

First moved to lake Jackson 1 1/2 years ago. Wanted bbq and they were suggested. First experience was great could have enjoyed more if bigger side portions. However I have been there 3 times in the last two months. Green Beans and chicken was heavily seasoned. High blood pressure for days. Side portions seem smaller than my first time. I’m assuming due to COVID it may have really impacted their inventory and production.

Never been impressed with DJ's bbq so I thought I would try one of their "daily specials" if your daily specials are the same every day, it's not a special. $10 for a brisket Frito pie and drink. Frito pie consisted of mostly Fritos and beans. Very little brisket(not much flavor or smoke.) Thought it funny that he asked me if I wanted jalapenos & onions. They are help yourself items. There was a small amount of cheese. Oh well, hard to find really good bbq in Brazoria county.

I came in for the first time and no one else was there..I asked what's a big plate that will fill me up..they suggested the 3 meat plate..ok..cool..jalapeño sausage, sliced pork and chopped beef..2 sides, potatoe salad and cole slaw...large drink..$20..wow ok.. not alot if meat..knats flying around by the pickles and peppers...tiny amount of potatoes salad and cole slaw... came with 2 slices of bread.. wasn't impressed... still left hungry... I will pay for good bar b que.. but heck fill the fat guy up.. :)

The service was pretty good. The thing that makes BBQ magical is a pitmaster who can apply a good smoke flavor with a nice blend of spices as well. These 2 important things fell a little short during my visit. The beans seemed to be lacking in the "wow" factor and they were just plain beans. The cole slaw could have been better as well. Each day in BBQ can change so maybe this was just an off day.
