Went to the Kroger in Clute, Texas 9-29-23 and the entrance I went in had no shopping carts. I'm handicapped and to walk to the other entrance on the other side of the store to get a cart. As usual there were not enough sackers and there's usually not enough cashiers. This is a sad situation. I have complained to the in store managers and online but it doesn't get better. This is unprofessional, a pain in the rear, the Kroger in Clute, Texas I'm not handicap friendly.

I choose to come to the store often because it is near my house and has a lot of items I typically need. I do not recommend the Starbucks in this Kroger. I purchase money orders here which usually isn't a problem, but sometimes there is a long line and this section of the store is not open as long as the rest of the store. I always check the strawberries and other produce because sometimes they are rotten but overall they are of quality although they usually don't have plantains. My biggest complaint are the baskets here. A good quiet functioning basket is rare, far and few between. The thing I like most about this Kroger is their customer service. There are a lot of employees who have been working here for years, who are all very polite and know how to do their job!

For grocery shopping it's okay, but avoid the bakery. I put in a cupcake order a week ahead of time for my daughter's class. They gave my cupcakes away to a different customer even though they had my name on them. So I show up and don't have any cupcakes for my daughter but they're going to call the other customer to let her know she picked up the wrong ones. Because that helps.

I showed up at 10:52 to buy some emergency items to care for a wound on the bottom of my foot & I was turned away although the store didn't close until 11. Horribble service. Door attendant was even on her phone and didn't even care to stand to speak to me.

This store is very nice and compared to HEB, you don't have to fight the crowd to get what you need. The produce is fresh and for the most part is always stocked. The only thing that I don't like is having to use and keep up with a member card for discounts. Also they have no Apple Pay.

I've been shopping here three years. The store itself is fine as far as stock is concerned. Not perfect by any stretch, but in this small town, that's not expected. Checkout has become miserable. I know that self-checkout, like self-service gas, is the future, but if you have checkers working, have sackers to support them. I was exhausted from a difficult and emotional day. The last thing I wanted to do was bag my own groceries and argue with those infernal computers. I use them almost every time, but today I needed a break. I stood in line. Patiently. Only to have the young man bagging leave as soon as my items started being scanned by the checker. I suppose I didn't appear infirm or elderly enough and with only 3 sackers to cover four lanes, I lost out. I'm so done with Kroger. I'll be switching to HEB for as much of what I need as possible. The negative reinforcement training to get us to use the self checkout in the first place angered me enough as it is. And I'm sure the customer sees none of the savings the company is getting by laying off employees due to automating (turning customers into part time employees). So done.

Sushi Bar - Review - Vegan Options? Yup! Quick, light, refreshing, & low cost. The Garden Wrap is a great grab for a quick healthy bite. This is a great go-to. Kroger/Snow Fox sometimes has a vegetarian roll (it is vegan); I prefer this over the Garden Wrap. They rotate the two. (Garden Wrap & Vegetarian Roll) Side Note: LJ Kroger has a very nice & clean dine-in area! (Super Plus!), I enjoy HEB sushi options as well but they do not have a dine-in area. Side Side Note, Kroger is our go-to local store. They have many vegan friendly options. We love it & are so grateful for this! THANK YOU KROGER FOR BEING SO VEGAN FRIENDLY!

The store is clean, easy to navigate and the staff overall is friendly, if sometimes confused lol. I did deduct 1 star for their checkout area. The way they're set up, if you use a handicap cart, you have to wait for them to unload your cart, and people pull up behind you and block you in, making it hard to back out and get to the actual payment area. In addition, since they're bagging at the far end, you're still stuck waiting (and holding up the line) while you pay and they can get the bags to your cart once you're able to move up to the payment area (again, handicap carts). Other than that, it's a great store!

I have shopped at Kroger for over 35 years in Houston, Alvin and now lake Jackson. The new Kroger here in clute needs to up their checkout service! It is slow, lines are long, wait time for me today was 40 minutes. I didn't even shop near that long. Only 3 checkers is not, as stated on their checkout screen, fast check out!. I'm going back to HEB sadly. I also had to bag my groceries.
