After receiving a very good reference from a future neighbor who had great things to say about People's Bank I inquired about a construction loan at the same branch and spoke to the VP by name. At first I was treated courteously but ultimately was turned down, not because I am not qualified or do not have a good credit score, but because in their words I live too far away, a distance of about 70 miles. Poor customer service. Although I really don't have a choice now, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
