My situation is similar to many other posted reviews. Facility is nice enough, but the contract issues and resolutions are not customer friendly. I just cancelled my membership that I thought was frozen. Their records illustrate that I did discuss freezing my account with the manager. She said I have been doing this for 8 years. I would have handed you a freeze form to institute it. "Why didn't you" I asked. I left thinking the account was frozen. She just replied "read your contract." Also in that "read your contract", I should have read that when you cancel evidently they are going to charge you for another month before your contract can be terminated. I cancelled 4/9/24, they are going to charge me again in a few weeks, but I will have access to the gym I wasn't using until late May. Yay for me! If you do sign up for a membership, keep every piece of paper they hand you and read every email they send. The policies are not customer friendly - don't rely on them to do what is logically fair or moral. As the owner states, there is a 30 day notice. One has to ask why is there a 30 day notice? Is there a waiting list to get in and they need that time to contact next in line? My guess is that is not the case. It’s away of getting ~$38 more dollars from their members. You just got finished milking me by not freezing my account when I requested it in person. I was not asked to fill out a form to make it happen. I was told “I can do that for you”.Anyway- glad our business is over with.

Excellent gym. Clean, equipment is well maintained, the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Great variety of people from the young fit college kids to elderly folks and everything in between. Great to see. Even got my 85 year old dad to join!

No qualms with the equipment..like all gold's gyms, they have the best free and assisted lifting systems, with plenty of selection of cardio equipment. If only the people who go there could be as well-functioning...toxic environment. Frat boys and guys on roids flexing and making you uncomfortable. It's so annoying. Plus there are the girls wearing nothing but yoga pants and a sports bra running slow-mo on the elliptical machine. I wish Gold's Gym would do more to change the atmosphere, because besides the equipment, its a rather unpleasant experience when working out should feel freeing.

Equipment is nice, but other than that, not much good unfortunately. Atmosphere is toxic, lots of douchey college kids and scantily clad girls, very distracting. Yoga is yoga, overall unpleasant experience

Extremely rude front desk. Went in to talk about getting a trial and maybe talk about memberships and was met by a high, lazy and rude employee. He had no enthusiasm and was just on his phone when I walked in. I signed up online to get the free pass and try the gym out but he claimed I had my name in the system already. Which made no sense to me because I’ve never been to Golds and I just moved to College Station. When I tried to explain that to him that I’ve never been there he turned his back and said I can either pay 15 dollars for a day pass or I can get a membership and just completely shut down the conversation. I asked what memberships the club offered and he was acting as if it wasn’t his job to explain to customers what the club has to offer and was just overall extremely rude.

Good clean gym. Equipment is new and mostly maintained. The personal trainers are great for those who need coaching and motivation. Each trainer has a unique skill set that can assist with anyone's specific needs. I gave it a 4 star rating for the mostly positive experience. There's a few machines that have been broken for a while and a small stretch area. It gets real busy during peak times but there's enough equipment to get a good workout. I haven't tried the cycle or the burn classes, but they are offered here for group training. Also, it would be nice if the pool/sauna were still available, but the front desk said Gold's is phasing those out at all of their level 1 gyms.

This gym is the Best in town. The staff are kind and helpful. The management is on site most of the time, and interacts with the clients. The trainers are top notch and are friendly. They had a wide variety of equipment and everything is usually clean. I have been a member at this location since it opened. I am very pleased to work out at this facility.

Been going here for a couple years. Gyms extremely overcrowded during the semester and the equipment that breaks stays broken forever making it feel more crowded. Not worth the high monthly price(Edit) I have raised my rating from 2 to 3 stars due to the manager explaining to me about their "successful gym" in the reply below. Although slightly passive aggressive, a supply chain issue can't be put on the business (mostly) and at the very least the GM seems to be taking steps to rectify the issue. However, I cannot in good conscience give the full 5 star rating since there are very clear aspects of the over crowdedness of the gym that could be handled internally by the GM. For example, making sure there are more cleaning stations so customers feel less pressure to skip cleaning their equipment which would cause an unclean environment. Having to walk less distance to get to a cleaning station would undoubtedly shave off some time for people at equipment. Another quick fix for the overcrowdedness of specific areas of the gym, such as the free bench dumbbell section, would be to collect data for what is getting congested and what is being barely used and making some changes to address the feeling of overcrowdedness. I am not a GM of a successful gym, but if I were these would seem like the first things I would attempt to help, rather than waiting for a few months out of the year to fix the problem for me.

Although staff has always been great. The equipment is not being maintained in appropriate time. Equipment broken for months at a time and when I emailed to ask, no response. Water faucet broken for long time as well.Maintain or replace equipment
