I usually have a great experience but someone I just talked to over the phone was honestly very rude I was trying to schedule an appointment for my 2 year old and she did not seem like she wanted to help at all ! after getting tired of her tone I decided to just be polite and say goodbye she hung up on me without any good day or anything . Disappointing

This place as absolutely horrible. When I was sick with a fever for A WEEK, I turned to the UPA which did NOTHING. They said it would heal overtime and gave me antibiotics because they thought it was strep throat. It was not strep throat by the way, it was a virus. When they discovered it was a virus, they had me get tested. I waited for around a week or more and I hadn't been notified on my virus. It turns out, my sample was LOST. By the time I found this out, I had already healed from a Chinese herbal medicine my aunt diagnosed me with. This place is extremely irresponsible. Also, the lollipops are very sticky.

I think this is a right time to give an update on my last review. After I posted my review on Google review, UPA did get back to me for the testing results. I first want to say that I appreciate the office calling me back. Unfortunately the update is really something that should never have happened: they could not find my kid's specimen so they called me asking where did my kid get her blood drawn.
My rational is that : 1. UPA should have found that they lost the specimen much earlier if they are taking active care of my kid. 2. Where are all those days between the blood was drawn and I post my review on Google review? ----the only reason they did not know the specimen was lost is because they don't care about their patients----they don't care about a child patient, who has been seeing UPA for more than 10 years since she was born, had been on fever for more than a week in 2024. Actually at the same time when I sought care at UPA, I took my kid to St Joseph urgent care since I could not get an appointment with UPA. On the 4th day when I told St Joseph urgent care that my kid was still in fever, urgent care called me back three times that morning, asking me to take my kid back for evaluation. I thought I was in good hands since I was taking my kid to a pediatrician's office.
What a joke!
Doctors cannot cure everything and we as parents deeply understand it. But attitude matters. This is all I can say.
We as human beings, regardless it is a practice or it is a personal relationship, we care first, then we cure. I hope my reviews can help UPA improves their practice principles so to help other worrying parents ----UPA, please focus on your active patients, but not how many more patients you can enroll.

I will not be returning here. I should have consulted a doctor instead of a nurse practitioner. She arrived 30 minutes late, which is normally understandable, but given that my daughter is non-verbal, level 3 autistic, and struggles to stay calm in unfamiliar environments, this was particularly challenging. This should have been a sign to switch to seeing a doctor for future appointments, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
In a previous visit, when discussing my son's issues, she mentioned that a chest x-ray should have been done at the emergency room the day before. Despite this, she chose not to perform an x-ray for my son, who had a high fever, opting instead to wait several more days. Ultimately, we did get the x-ray, but only after multiple visits and considerable frustration.
Additionally, she provided the wrong dosage for my son's medication. It seems she has too many patients to manage effectively, which isn't entirely her fault. However, I can no longer continue with this place.

Amber Armstrong is WONDERFUL! She is incredibly thorough, gentle & patient. She answers every question and is never in a hurry when she is seeing my son. Her nurse, Lazae, is amazing. She is so sweet & animated, & she makes my son feel so safe! I am so thankful for the two of them.

The online booking website functions poorly. You're allowed to schedule and type in all your information and then at the last step you get an error message about your browser cache being full. When you call they try to blame your system before admitting logging in as a guest is not even possible despite being given the option. If this is any indication of how their insurance/billing/other computing systems is run, I'll pass. No thanks.

So far our experience with our 6 year old and newborn have been great. We have been met with kindness and compassion for our care and Dr. Parr and Dr. Tomlin have been wonderful. We appreciate all their help and guidance. Appointment times and availability have been no issue and we get great response on phone calls and portal messages.

we've seen them so often with all the of our sickling children that we should have "frequent guest" cards, or stock, or something... and I'm pretty sure we've seen every dr there too. they're ALL awesome ppl and even better doctors. dr schams' team is second to none and we LOVE them all for their sincere bedside manner and true interest in our kids health and wellbeing❤️

From the moment we walked in- the dr (Henderson) was pushing vaccines. Before he even asked WHY we hadn’t finished the vaccine cycle (I really wanted advice on our particular situation) - He told me they wouldn’t care for our son if I didn’t finish the vaccines- nor would anyone else in this entire town. What?! Who says that to a mom wanting advice?!!! This was an ultimatum in the first 90 seconds. Instead of having a conversation or helping me understand how to move forward and answer my questions - it was fear mongering and shaming right off the bat. Discriminating vs helping. Do NOT recommend going here - ever - unless it’s for vaccines.

While our other visits have been very effective, This feedback is specifically for today 3/8/23, all I wanted was a eye ointment instead of the already prescribed eye drop, we stated that with our 4 yrs old its impossible to get the eye drop in his eyes even once a day ,forget 3 times a day, as prescribed. We never had to use eye drops before so we didn't anticipate this issue before. I called in 3 times only to be DENIED medication. We already have a vaccine appointment tomorrow post 4 pm so want our baby to suffer as they wouldn't prescribe an ointment nor book an early appointment. We were told to visit the urgent care otherwise.Shame on you!

I have been with UPA for just shy of 3 years. I have never had a problem with same day appointments or anything until Texas Children’s took over. Now there’s never same day appts (one of the doctors told my mom they are forcing them to only work a few days a week instead of full time) and the front desk staff seem to have no medical understanding at all. My youngest just turned one and at 7 weeks he had a seizure and we were told that any fever is an automatic visit to the doctor from Texas Children’s in Houston. So I called when he was 5 months old and they were not going to be able to get him in for a fever for 2 days. Then I was told “well if you think it’s that bad take him to the ER” and they had no other suggestions. Now I’m trying to make an appt for my almost 3 year old who is crying telling me his ear hurts and they don’t have a single doctor with an open appt today.Let’s also add that Dr Goen told me that my son was “an Olympic event” to parent and that he was going to be a difficult child because I was choosing to gentle parent and “that just doesn’t work. At his age he needs to obey because you said so not understand why”. All because at his 2 year appt I had to tell him twice to not be in the babies face.. no fit, no screaming or crying.. just had to repeat myself. He is incredibly smart and strong willed but he is not a difficult child. I cannot imagine what she says to ND kiddos if she is talking to my NT kiddo like that.

The worst office I miss cedar park so much. The office staff in front are rude and lack empathy. They do not wash their hands properly or did infect the waiting area my child got hand foot and mouth disease from this practice. I too tried to get a sick appointment and was told it would be 2 days until my child could be seen. The automated voice response will say they have after hours and weekend availability but that must be in the HOUSTON area. In the college station office they are rude uncaring monotone unprofessional admins and the front desk manager too I hope they get paid more so they can at least pretend to care about the children.

By far our worst experience at a pediatric office. I took my 4 year old because he hurt his ankle, he’s visibly limping and it’s swollen. I want to add his pediatrician in Houston would NEVER let him leave her office with some sort of support with the shape he was in. We left the office with ankle not wrapped or with an ankle brace for support. He is non verbal and can’t speak on what is hurting him. Dr.Par sent us over to get an x-ray. His bones are not broken but his ankle is sprained. The fact that he left a Texas Childrens office with no wrap, no brace with a swollen sprained ankle. I have called 4 times and the nurse or doctor never got back to me. My child is autistic and doesn’t understand what “taking it easy” means, It is extremely unprofessional and disgusting with the lack of compassion there is at this office, and carelessness there is because this can easily turn into a fracture. All that was said in my “my chart” message was “no broken bones in the x-ray, he should stop limping in about a week.” We will never go back to this place with the way they have treated my son.
