We were in town for the NSC & we made an appt for my student to get her first bank acct. The Staff were all very nice & tried to speed things along, as they knew we had a day full of activities lined up already. They have a phone charging area in the lobby!!

From a simple problem the people at Wells Fargo have made it clear they have no interest in my business. I have 13 different accounts with them including a mortgage and a student loan. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 20 years. And on a $374 check that was bounced to my daughter they show ZERO willingness to resolve the issue. THe funds are in the account right now but they refuse to process the check instead demanding they have 7 days to hold the check. It is 100% clear what they want. They want my daughter to NSF other charges so they can hit her up for fees. They have lied to me twice trying to blame the Federal Reserve. These lies are not taken lightly either. The hold is 100% Wells Fargo decision and they are the ones that can release the hold. Do not lie to me I know the truth and the laws and this is the end of a very long relationship. My advice is simple. Wells Fargo simply does not care about their customers and they are not going to work with you. Policy is all they care about. Truly Pathetic.

Exceptional customer service! I walked in and was greeted and offered water or coffee. The teller was inviting. Unsure of the negative reviews on here but maybe they saw them and took them to heart. I definitely recommend this location.

I'm hesitant to be too enthusiastic about a mega bank like Wells Fargo, so I'll just say up front that this review isn't so much about Wells Fargo as a company, but more about the outstanding service of this location's current staff. I might get messed over later on with charges and fees and other nonsense, but as far as the staff goes at the University location, I'm really pleased! My husband and I went in to open a joint account, and Rachel McClure was SO helpful, friendly and informative. She explained things in layperson's speak, worked with us on what wanted, and didn't try to hassle or upsell us on anything we didn't want. She even remembered me when I walked back in today, several weeks after the first visit, to wrap up some unfinished tasks, and I walked out with EVERYTHING being totally set up and explained to me. I can't comment on the rest of the staff, but it seems like a happy, friendly, helpful bunch, (I can hear them talking to other customers while I'm there) so maybe give them a try before you throw out the idea of banking with Wells Fargo? Initially I was totally against it, but for right now, I'm happy we chose to bank here!

Don't know why this place gets such bad reviews, I have always received impeccable service from all Wells Fargo locations. I even got a car loan from them, and when I refinanced with a credit union they were incredibly accommodating of the switch. I have both a credit and debit line with them and because I pay my bills and don't overdraft I'm now a "preferred" customer and can basically request an increased credit limit or lower interest rate. They are also incredibly forgiving of me losing my cards all the time and send replacements very quickly! However, my favorite thing about my account is the rewards program. I've earned back the minimal interest I have paid at least three fold this past year. If you are going to overdraft or can't pay off your credit card each month, maybe you shouldn't open a line of credit. Money is never free!

If you read the other two reviews for this bank, there's not really much more that I can add. It's a giant International mega bank that is no longer there to protect your money (like banks used to) they are there to get your money any way they can, even if it's in small print and being sneaky. A lot of people are moving away from these large banks for this very reason. I closed my accounts here and went with Commerce National Bank down on the corner of University and Spring Loop across from Red Lobster. That's a very small Texas based chain from Lubbock and I can't say enough kind things about the friendly staff down there. They've never once screwed me and I've been using them for about 5 years now since I learned how Wells Fargo operates, the hard way.

As a naive freshman I opened an account in a bank which was closest to my residence and had the most ATMs around town. Moreover this bank is the same bank that the A&M university uses, and as a university employee I thought that would ease up some paperwork. This bank has an excellen up-front service. Beware however - this bank will screw you when you are not looking. God forbid if you make a financial mistake. I will enumerate several which annoyed me the most: 1. Overdraft fee is 35$, compared to 10$ in any other bank around here 2. Overdraft protection fee is 10$ instead of 3$ like in all the banks. (yes, as a poor student I overdrafted a few times) 3. I purchased something from China via Paypal. The purchase was in HKD. Although Paypal was the one to do the currency conversion, Wells fargo still charged me for a foreign transaction, as if they did the conversion. I had to pay double the conversion rate! 4. Although I told them to never send me anything by mail, they constantly spammed me with insurance offers and such 5. To top it all, when I transfered money from savings to checking and accidentally switched the checking and savings fields, they charged me triple the overdraft fee!!! Their system should have understood that I am making a mistake since I am trying to transfer the money that does not exist, and the TO and FROM fields are just mixed up. 6. Every time they charged me some stupid fee, they came up with the most idiotic explanations as to why. I have had enough.

Oooooh, evil, evil, evil Wells Fargo. My story about Wells Fargo starts off with me, a naive freshmen newly arrived in Texas and needing a bank that my parents also had in Anchorage. Low and behold, there's a Wells Fargo on Northgate. So we walk over there. Everything goes smoothly, I open my account, check my check card, and a few years pass. I'm now in Houston and happen to check my credit report since my roomie had just had her identity stolen. Missed payments from Wells Fargo?! In 2004?! Hmmm, must investigate. Turns out the claim is that I didn't make two payments in 2004 on my credit card and then canceled the card down a few months later. Problem is that I never had a credit card with them--just a debit card. After months and months of calling Wells Fargo and trying to get them to fix it, we're at a standstill. They refuse to take it off and I've called as far as I can go. I think their secret weapon is how the lull you into a state of trust with their good customer service in person and then screw you into the ground when you're not looking. I guess I'll have to wait a few more years for it to finally be off my credit report. If you go with them, don't say I didn't warn you!
