January 2024 by Matias Ortiz
But today, January 9th, 2024, I had the MOST uncomfortable and suspect situation I could’ve ever imagined. And mind you, I come to this gym EVERY DAY, like 6-7 days a week, sometimes several weeks in a row. But today, I checked in like usual, parked my truck in the lot, walked in through the front door, scanned at the front desk, and went about my day. I sat in the sauna for maybe 3 minutes, then went to the men’s locker room to freshen up. As I was attempting to walk out to the gym area, I was stopped and asked if I had snuck in through the back door? I was so confused about what they were asking because not even 10 minutes ago, I had checked in at the front desk. I repeated the question back to them, “What do you mean, how did I come in?” The staff member said I looked suspicious and mentioned that I had been described as someone who snuck in through the back door. I mean, seriously, picture this situation: the only young Hispanic male is the one accused of sneaking in through the back… In moments like these, I have to look deep within myself, stay cool, and remind myself that I am a college professor. I have my Master's, I own several local businesses, I manage nonprofits, but even more than that, I have to remind myself that there are still people who judge with their eyes before they judge with their hearts. I used every ounce of self-control to walk with the staff member to the front desk to verify that I had just scanned in not even 10 minutes prior. Following this, I asked for my membership to be immediately canceled. I’ll spare you the sob story, but not feeling welcomed in your own gym is not a good feeling. I spoke with a different staff member as I was canceling my membership who mentioned that they had seen me around the pump room—a room I have never been in, didn’t even know where it was, and hadn’t come close to that morning. They said I looked like “someone who snuck in through the back.” I have been through so much adversity in my life that nothing surprises me anymore, but I just want to put this message out to anyone else who may experience something similar: save yourself the $185.19 a month and find a gym that will embrace you with open arms. I simply can’t be a part of any club, society, gym, or organization that won’t have me as a member. And this morning, the staff made it clear that I’m not welcomed there. I don’t need an apology, not then, not now. Matthew 7:5.

Experienced the incredible Dynamic Stretching session at their open house yesterday and it was truly amazing! Meci, my Stretch Specialist, was both knowledgeable and helpful throughout the session. Can't wait for my next visit! Every adult should try it at least once. It was better then a massage.

Hot tub has so much chlorine. I,ve had a headache for two days. Plus the water is too hot. For $200 a month you would think that it wouldn't be like that.

It’s a good gym but the people there have no sense of gym etiquette

August 2023 by Hannah Krienke
I was called by an aquatics team member asking if I wanted to bring my kids in for a free swim lesson (ONE) to which I accepted. However, I was unable to attend the lesson due to schedule conflict. There was no mention of running my CC on file for absolutely anything! That was the end of June. My family never attended a swim lesson. August invoice rolls around I see an extra charge to my card for $157.50 so I call to find out what this was for and was told it was a recurring monthly service charge for swim lessons for my kids that I NEVER signed up for and NEVER granted authorization to run my card for. So, they tell me they will cancel the lessons and refund my card and it would take up to a week for it to reflect. That was August 1, I called again on August 9, and now again today because the money has not been refunded. Every time I call, I get the same answer: “we will cancel the lessons and refund the card”. And every week neither one of these promises have been kept, so today I asked to speak to the manager and was told it would be Monday before I would get a call from said person. This is dishonest business and makes me feel uncomfortable having my card on file with a company that feels they are at liberty with no authorization of any sort to just take money from people’s accounts for services they never signed up for and never rendered!!! I am happy at the Fort Worth alliance location but this was the location I originally signed up with before we relocated and I will certainly be transferring my “home” gym to Fort Worth and never stepping foot inside this old run down and untrustworthy establishment again. Pay close attention to your statements because you’re dealing with commission- greedy employees. The end.

My experience here has been extraordinary for the first quarter century that I have been alive. I have been a gym member here since 2006. Upon graduating college, I would typically show up at 5:50 am in the mornings on Wednesdays and Fridays before work. From Fall of 2018 to Summer of 2022 I was 100% always treated CONSISTENTLY the same. It appears as though the trainees, guests and customers have an obsession with talking about Credit Cards. I feel sympathy for one of the customers whose name I will not say. The heavyset gentleman insisted upon shooting a stranger. FIREARMS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT LTF. These words make my OLD hometown city look not quite as good as it used to. I have had 2 trainers here in the past and have no complaints about either of them. I LOVE Lifetime Fitness and have been to a total of 5 locations and I truly like this specific floor plan of this particular location off of Church street. I will always carve out some time on Sundays also known as the day of rest to work out at this location. I will always stay LOYAL to this location.

OMG! Addison, in the Lifetime cafe, is so good at her job. She is such a hustler and has such an infectious positive energy with her! I got my shake almost immediately after being ordered, and I couldn’t have asked for better service. She seriously deserves a raise/promotion.

It is very inconvenient that all the people uses the family changing room to walk through the pool area! Countless times parents and kids have to move to let them pass, I cant change or bathe my daughter comfortably because there is always a guy or two walking and looking around! 3 weeks ago they had a pickeball tournament and it was literally filled with men, one was even washing his face there! Please do better and protect our children! Put a big sign out there! if you have the capacity to have people by the pool checkin if they paid for pool use you have the capacity to place a worker there prohibiting the access to people without kids in those changing rooms! There is literally a big glass next to those rooms that could easily become a door!

11/1” RECOMMENDED! Jeanette turned us into LIFETIME LIFETIME members. You don’t see service like this anymore. The gym is great, but the people make it the best gym in DFW.

I’ve been a member here for years but simply not worth it anymore!!! It’s become a YMCA for kids swimming with instructors screaming all afternoon at dozens of kids swimming during adult prime swim time (after work). No way to sit and relax there with all of the screaming going on. Plus, everyone thinks they have a reserve locker and just leave their stuff so good luck finding an open locker! NO WAY THIS PLACE IS WORK WHAT THEY CHARGE!!!

I enjoy the place a Lot but for how much we all pay. There is simple things that can be a whole lot better. At least the fountain water... Someone will be sick out of that.

Had a private area blocked off for a party in the gym but folks kept coming over to practice pickleball when it was clear there was a party going on. Nothing was said to them.
