They contacted me after the fact... yrs later, the problem was remedied by someone else . I paid a $1000 to hoovers brought it back 3 times to them saying it was not right they had ample chances to fix it right and didnt ...so my one star rating stands . A person who had no experience with air conditioners winded up fixing what they couldnt after 3 visits...they said theyd look at it again for more money lol

Took my car in for a odd grinding/whining sound. They came back too me with what they thought the issue was and other problems they found. After discussing with them, I selected to repair the mounting bracket, change the oil pan because it had a minor leak, transmission oil change, steering fliud, and serpentine belt (which I took the wrong piece.) They did a good job fixing the issue but I have two complaints. First, they had my car for a week and didn't get to my car till the last 2 days. Second, the main issue was not fixed. I had take it else where and got it diagnosed in less than 5 minutes for free. I will not recommend nor damn this place either. The guy in the front was polite and communicative. That's my experience with this place.

Shady business tactics, avoidance, no follow up, loss of thousands of dollars paid for work not performed with no explanation as to why for 6 months. My husband and I put our car in the shop for over 6 months due to a turbo blowing. We paid the total they gave us which was close to $5000 upfront after taking out a loan to pay it, waited months (about 6) for the turbo to come in. Finally when it came in they tell us it will cost $9000 more now to repair the car for other various other reasons. Why was this not explained 6 months ago when we asked if it would need anything else and we were told it wouldn't? It was way more than what we had left to pay of the car so it wasn't worth it. If we had known it needed more fixed we would've just scrapped it and never wasted 6 months waiting for a turbo they ordered to come in, and just got a new car. They caused us so much emotional and financial stress that couldve been remedied in a professional manner through communication. We ended up taking the turbo back to sell ourselves because they stated it could take months again plus a restock fee. that's almost $3000 accounted for, but the rest of our money we gave them to work on the car they never worked on they never gave back or said a word about after several attempts and months of calling and reaching out being told " we'll call you after we speak to the owner on one of our meetings" but they never followed up. After the first time they did that we started recording all of our follow up phone calls. They never stated why they were keeping the money we gave them for work they didnt perform, never contacted us back the multiple times we called and spoke with people up there, Just kept stating they would follow up later during their meetings when the boss attends and never did eachtime. This went on for months and we were the ones constantly reaching out to them. But honestly, we had to keep following up with them during the entire process of just waiting to see when the turbo would come in, so I'm not surprised. Not to mention after we brought the car home my husband later found bolts missing in his vehicle, so now causing further damage which was unneccessary. Don't take a chance here, they dont communicate or care about their customer base. Car was under my husbands name at the shop. Red veloster. If you look at a lot of the 1star reviews you'll see a trend of people complaining of them not following up with customers and leaving them hanging. So in short, $2000 stolen from us, almost a year of time stolen as well, if not more, no attempt to reach out even after us calling and trying to reach out multiple times and being told they'd call us back ( they did not), and their lack of effort to communicate with us was a direct cause of all the hardships we had to face afterwards. Oh, but they sure were willing to talk to us about buying the vehicle...Update: finally got in contact with the owner after 6 months. Had to contact another store he owns. Stated he wpuld get back to me but it would "take some time" even though this had already been a 6 month event and then blamed past employees for not getting back with him onthe matter stating he has "no control if they decide to tell him or not. Every time I call he treats me as if im some unhinged woman complaining over nothing rather than a woman he stole thousands of dollars from and ghosted, like im some major inconvenience to him as if our family being ripped off thousands of dollars for a job that was never completed and price increased at the last second by thousands of more dollars with no explanation as to how the financials were distrubuted or why we can't have our money back, hell even a denial wouldve been better so we could just move forward on the matter. Over 2 weeks later and he still hasn't followed up or called me back like he said he would. Reported to the BBB as a final attempt to get a response on the matter. They don't care about good morals or respect. Ive been more than patient at

"I visited this store without prior knowledge of their new staff. They charged me nearly $200 for inspecting my car's AC issue and then provided an $800 repair quote. Thankfully, I decided to take my car to Tracy's Auto, where I got the same repair done for only $200, and they didn't even charge me for the inspection. I recommend considering alternative options before committing here."

Nice, professional experience today withthe mechanics at Hoovers. I told them that I was having problems with my engine light coming on. I had just come from a different shop and was quoted a price that was upwards of $300 dollars. I'm glad I decided to get a second opinion at Hoovers. Turns out it was my air filter and that's all. They charged me for the filter and after they changed it, engine light no longer comes on. The huge price decrease was a win in itself. I felt that at the other shop I was targeted for extra, unnecessary expenses because I was a woman who showed up alone. At Hoovers I felt the complete opposite. I believe the gentleman that helped me was named Dubb. I'll be going to Hoovers from now on.

Today I went to Hoover's to get my tires pressure checked because my tire light was on.. The guy told me to drive around back & park my car on a steep hill. After he checked my tire pressure, I was attempting to leave. But, I couldn't leave because my car was stuck in park. They told me that this happened because I didn't put my emergency brake on, while I was parked on a steep hill. Maybe, they were right ??. But my driveway, at home, is a steep hill & this has NEVER happened. I always pull my emergency brake up. But, there has been a few times I forgot to pull up my emergency brake up. But, my car has NEVER done this before ?. Hoover's said it would cost $185.60 to fix my car. All of a sudden, a woman walks in & she was livid. She paid them over $1000 to fix her car. Her car has been there since October, 2022, they still haven't fixed her car! She said, everytime she calls they say they found something else wrong with her car. So, she had her car towed somewhere else ?.All of this happened right in front of me! Now, my red flag alert is on high ?. So, I called TRACY'S AUTO, my mechanic. They cut their lunch break short & told me to come right away. They fixed my car the same day! They stopped everything they were doing, to help me. And, they fixed my car in minutes. Tracy's Auto saved me over $100!I wish I would've read Hoover's reviews before I went there. I will NEVER go to Hoover's again!?? DO NOT GO TO HOOVER'S! THEY'RE PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS! ESPECIALLY TOWARDS WOMEN! ??? If I could rate them less than one star, I would! HOOVER'S ARE SCAMMERS!!!! And, to the owner who just left a unprofessional reply: I'm glad u understand what I'm saying. I went there to get my tires checked & left your shop with a major car issue. You're one step closer toadmitting your wrong doings. There are classes u can take that'll teach u how to run a successful business . And, I NEVER said I didn't have any money. The only reason the guy came out to help, after leaving me outside for over 20 minutes, is because Tracy's was on his way to come & save me. Now, you're lying to make yourself look good. I refused to spend my money with scammers. My car was fixed the same day. And, the only reason I stopped at Hoover's is because the shop I usually go to was fully booked, unlike your shop ??. God Bless ?Service: Tires

they procrastinated working on my car, I had to keep calling to check on it. then they couldn't find out what was wrong and charged me nearly 400 dollars for engine flush and eval. literally did not fix the problem, and I had to take it to another auto shop in town the next week.update to respond to hoovers reply: i have spent money at hoovers multiple times so don't claim there aren't records. look up the $369.11 transaction on November 22, 2022.

Would give 10 stars if I could!! I called first thing this morning after having a blow out a few miles outside of Commerce. Dubb, out of the kindness of his heart, came out of his way to come put the spare on for me and follow me back to their shop. They ordered my tire same day and had me back on the road by the time I left work! :) could not recommend a friendlier and more welcoming team! I would trust them with my life! ☺️

GREAT SERVICE! The team was super helpful and courteous. Went in for an oil change and took about 30 min. Brought to my attention of other things I need to look out for and let me leave with a quote for replacements. No pressure of tending to the other issues the day of where I would pay an unexpected amount.Service: Oil change

Swift service, very helpful, they towed my vehicle to the shop without charge, a great bunch of mechanics that I now consider Brothers, and all around awesome service. They get a 5 star rating, if anyone else has any objections. Come and see me and set you straight.

Horrible deceptive business. Took a vehicle to them for service. I almost exclusively work on my own vehicles but did not have the time available to repair this farm truck. When I picked up the vehicle, I found the transmission to be slipping. After I pulled the vehicle back into the business, the service advisor told me there was a hole in the transmission causing fluid loss and needed to be replaced. I had driven the vehicle to the business without issue. While the vehicle was being serviced, the business asked several times if I wanted to sell it and I declined. I had the vehicle towed to my house and was unable to locate the hole or leak in the transmission. While looking for a leak, I found that the entire engine and transmission was covered in transmission fluid, as if someone has splashed or thrown the fluid on it. The transmission fluid covered parts from the front of the engine to the rear of the transmission. This included the exhaust manifold and the exhaust system. The coating of fluid caused a lot of smoke after the vehicle warmed up. I refilled the transmission and have not found any fluid loss in two years. I have put over 20K miles on the vehicle without fluid loss. I also paid for an “ac delco” crank sensor to be installed and ended up with the cheapest sensor they could find. I requested and paid for the name brand sensor because aftermarket sensors have a reputation for failure. The business stated that they would replace it if I brought the vehicle back. There is no way I would ever allow this business to touch my vehicle again. They did not offer any compensation for the sensor even when they were provided documentation showing the used an inferior part. Hoovers automotive was a reputable business until the retirement of the original owner. There is no way I would suggest someone take their vehicle to this establishment. What I experienced was beyond “shady” and I would consider borderline criminal. I have waited almost two years to make this review to confirm I was correct and didn’t accuse someone of something they didn’t do. I hope this review helps someone reconsider taking their vehicle to Hoovers automotive in Commerce and being taken advantage of.Service: Engine repair

******DON'T GO HERE! THEY UPCHARGE & CURSE AT YOU!*******My grandmother who was a loyal customer of Hoover's for 15 years, went here recently to get an oil change and new windshield wipers and was charged around $250. When she spoke with the parts manager and asked about the pricing, specifically a charge of $100 for new windshield wipers (typically $36) she was treated rudely and was hung up on. When she called back and tried to talk with him again about the pricing, he told her "If you don't like it, kiss my a**". Absolutely unacceptable. I nor anyone else in my family plan to ever go back here again.
