Amazing state park! It is one of the most beautiful and safe places to camp in Texas. Rented out a screen shelter with my bestie, and it was a great glamping experience. The Old Baldy trail is awesome ? and definitely check out Crystal Cave, too!
Toilets: Clean restrooms and showers close to the screen shelters!

Garner State Park is an awesome place to camp and swim in the Frio River next to Old Baldy. Definitely one of the prettiest parts of Texas.

Other than the water being low, the park is in great condition, well maintained, friendly staff, close convenient store. Great park, kids love it.
Toilets: Typical park restrooms
Dog-friendliness: Yes
Picnic area: Provided tables are rough and small grill top on fire pits , best to bring your own table and bigger grill if you want to feed more than 4 people

Pretty park. It's had a handful of hikes, some strenuous, but still short enough for little ones to hike. Lots of people, it seems year-round. We were there in October, and the weather was fantastic. This park has lots of amenities, but some are only open in the summer. It has paddle boat and kayak rentals, putt putt, a grill, a store with camping essentials, a gift shop, and a dance area for seasonal dances. I am probably forgetting something.
We enjoyed our time there.

We visited the park mid-week, the park facilities like restrooms are overall good, sand volleyball courts need attention. Visitors do not seem to respect quite times

First time visiting a great place to visit hiking is a must.
To see great view from top of Old Baldy is a treat for those who can make it up to the top.

This park is the best Texas State Park I have been to. Nice trails, neat hills, and a cool clear river.

We enjoyed our stay, but could use some improvement The good. Pretty, clean water, and nice staff. However, as usual, Garner State Park says they're all booked up when trying to reserve online. But when you get there, more than half of the sites are empty. I don't know if it is true or not, but staff says Fema has them set back a % in case they need them. ? The bathroom ventilation fan in Live Oak does not work making the bathroom super hot and humid. Ranger told they don't have money to fix it. ? Quiet hours are supposed to be enforced after 10:00, but a large group was super loud until way past midnight. Unfortunately, we rarely saw any patrolling. Maybe money is tight?

Stayed in a cabin, was great, had everything we needed. Nice campgrounds. Beautiful scenery and river. Not as busy during October. I plan on going back, so peaceful.

I took my son and nephew camping here in early Oct. I thought it'd be less busy, boy was I wrong, super packed, super busy, very noisy, not how I like to enjoy nature. And no fishing. If you love going to the great outdoors and being surrounded by a thousand people, this place is for you.
