I usually like shopping at Dollar General, but lately it’s been really uncomfortable, especially when I’m looking at the makeup and personal care stuff. A voice suddenly comes on over the speaker saying things like “you’re being watched” or “this area is under surveillance.” I get that stores have to watch for theft, but the way it’s announced makes it super awkward, especially for someone with anxiety like me. I’m not doing anything wrong—just browsing—but it makes me feel like I’m being accused of something. It honestly makes me not want to shop there anymore. I hope they consider a less intense approach.

They are selling wine for double the price of HEB. Why would I get my wine there when I can go around the corner to HEB and get 1/2 price.

Who ever the lady was running the register around 6pm on 06/17/23 needs to get a serious review or fired she was extremely rude because I couldn’t afford to buy all the medicines my 8 month old daughter needed, embarrassing me in-front of the other customers in the store calling out my situation loudly and having me repeatedly say I only had enough money for a few of the items

best store around. they all have issues from time to time but this store owner don't wait to find out. I think a female owns this one which makes perfect sense to me. thanks for being our good graces during the pandemic. you came through for our community and I will continue to protect your store as i always have.

Mimi, the manager, accused me of stealing a hand carry basket because I used it to carry out the very heavy water bottles I was buying for the tropical storm. I needed it to take the water to my car and even though the line was a mile long inside, she stopped serving customers to run outside and yell at me that I couldn't steal it. I explained I was (clearly struggling) only carrying the water then would return it. I, of course, did just that. I returned the cart. I was annoyed and in disbelief at this terrible customer service already but then got a phone call later in the evening from my employee at the Pizza Hut next door saying that she was looking at the cameras and was interrogating him about whether or not I did it. This is embarrassing and completely disrespectful. Not only that, but I'm very upset that I have treated her with perfect customer service at my next door job, giving her discounts and friendly pleasantries always. I'm very unhappy.

I frequently go to this dollar store because I work at the Pizza Hut right next to it. After my 9 hour shift, I went to this location to buy water, just in case the storm gets bad. We got a bunch of big water bottles and we were using one of their handled baskets to carry them out to our car. The GM, followed us out, while serving a long line of customers, to tell us to bring back the basket, which in response I told her we would, the waters were just heavy. Weirded out by the situation, we just put the basket in the stack inside the store, and left. A few hours later, my coworker who wasn’t even related in the situation, calls me because they are interrogating him, and accusing us of taking their basket. This is really shocking and upsetting, because as I said I work across the street, and I have never treated her with any disrespect, and have always been professional, it feels very scary that she didn’t check the cameras, and instead brought someone else into it, making them think we stole, as managers at a Pizza Hut right across the parking lot.
