I applied for a job with Halliburton and received a call for a telephone interview. The interview was going great until the woman asked if I was fully vaccinated. I asked "for what?", since yes I am completely current on all vaccinations as required to work in a hospital (Tetanus, Hepatitis, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, etc). She said "Covid", to which I replied no, but I had the virus recently and have no problem taking a Titer test to prove my immunity. I didnt matter... I was told that Halliburton would require me to have a current vaccination card. This is a DIRECT violation of Texas state law which explicitly states "No entity in Texas can compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine by any individual, including an employee or a consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from COVID-19." So, no I don't have much respect for Halliburton and will likely file a complaint with the Texas Workforce Commission and the state Attorney General's office.
