Overall good experience!Rooms were showing their age in the part of the resort where we stayed. Everything worked great and was clean but if you looked closely you could see wear and tear. The jacuzzi tub in our room was old and had mildew buildup. Reception and all staff were very nice and courteous. Indoor pool was nice and heated. Playground was closed for renovations. Access to lake and beautiful views of the trees was a big plus. Would stay again if prices were a little bit more affordable.

This is a wonderful resort and, though we were visiting in the "off-season" and there was some understandable maintenance underway in places, we found the accommodations to be great for our needs. Certainly spacious!WiFi, television and telephone services were down due to a faulty "transformer" on-premises. Within eight or ten hours, services were restored. Friendly and competent staff members made our stay very pleasant.

We couldn’t be more disappointed with our stay we paid i very high price for our stay hoping to have a good vacation well it was the complete opposite. When we arrived we had to wait a additional 15 minutes outside upon arrival time for them to “clean” the room but to our surprise the rooms were not at all clean quite the opposite the bed sheets and dust on the vanity and dead bugs ,blankets had cigarette burns on them and the beds looked old and the floors were wet with whatever they cleaned them with and the jet bath bath had a foul smelling odor coming from it, the patio to the room had cobwebs and wasp flying all around and you couldn’t even use the patio. The room had food particles scattered around as if they didn’t even try to vacuum properly, the fans were black and definitely not clean at all and we had lizards in our room and then the worst to come. The management failed to tell anybody they were doing maintenance on their line and intern anyone taking a got this nasty, yellow, slimy stuff all over them because they were doing maintenance on the lines. We have tried numerous of times to reach out to management, and each time management has failed to respond to our Expedia booking request for help. Prior to leaving we did show the manager of the property pictures of the state of the room and all she had to say was she was going to make sure didn’t happen to the next guest but nothing to say for us.

My buddies pre-wedding dinner and post brunch and accommodations were here. It was so nice. The bed was a little squeaky when I was getting down in it but hey that just how it goes when the hulk gets down things smash ok. The room we had slept like 6 people had 2 full bath and a full kitchen with kitchenware bottle openers, counters that can hold a person, and a cool sleigh thing in front of the electric fire. The couch is sturdy. One of the showers was stand-up, but that still works. Dude, there was like 18 towels in there, so many. It was all rainy soaky wet so didn't get to do anything freaky on the back patio but meh. Couldn't share my phone screen with the TVs. Great place. We stayed in unit 105 11/10/23 two nights, woooo.

We had A+ service and accommodations making for the best memories to add to our family! From Rosalyn and Trisha at the front desk to Cheyenne, Derek and Sharon in the Grill to Brandon and Shawn in Maintenance to the front desk ladybug who worked Thursday afternoon and the Activity Ctr staff; service was professional, personable, and consistent. Everyone went above and beyond. With that said, the housekeeping staff needs an applause because our room was impeccable. Now we had bugs but we learned they are lake bugs. This is nature and they do not bite or harm or even come in contact with us. Seeing them inside at times was a nuisance but once we learned from Shawn they weren't mosquitoes, we were all find and didn't let it ruin our trip.We stayed in the Presidential Rooms (Signature 2bdrm Villa) which give you a FULL kitchen plus another mini kitchen in one of the bedrooms. Similar to an in-law suite with it's own front door. Responsible teens or in-laws would love this feature. The gym is large with very nice updated equipment. The grounds are beautiful with 3 pools, 1 heated indoor with 2 small whirlpools and 1 extra-large heated & jetted outdoor spa!!! There is putt putt golf, horseback riding, kayaking, paddle boats, fishing and so much more!I hope you and your family enjoy staying here as much as we did.God bless❣Rooms: Spacious, large balconies, XL jetted whirlpool tub in one bathroomNearby activities: Much to do in local area. Go to Downtown Conroe to shop local boutiques.Safety: Felt safe walking the property day and night.Walkability: Easy to navigate and the property is gated.Food & drinks: Chicken tenders and breakfast tacos were very good.

I spent a weekend here with two of my friends to get away from the city to have a relaxing and peaceful time. The resort itself is in a serene, peaceful, and wooded area. There are lots of trees and greenery. It reminds me of the wilderness, like in the movies where there is a single cabin and animals heard late at night. The difference is, there are more than three hundred cabins here. I'm sure that there are deer and other animals living amongst the trees and hidden woods. My fried told me that when she was sitting on the Patio at night she saw a few Doe. I loved spending time at the lake, reading, watching the boats, and listening to the water. The weekend that we went they were having a fall festival, so they had activities going on for the kids. The cabin itself was not the cleanest, very outdated, and compact. When I walk in, you have the living room area and the kitchen to the left. The chairs at the table had cloth seats and they were very filthy. Of course, none of us sat in any of those chairs. The living room area had a couch that was so hideous and old that I felt uncomfortable sitting on it without covering it up with a blanket. The chair also had pet hair all on it. It was very gross. The fake fireplace had cobwebs all in it, as if it had not been cleaned in a very long time. The TV was very small, I expected a bigger TV in the living area. The bedrooms were pretty small with a compact bathroom in each one. We had some people in the cabin next to us and you can hear everything. The walls are paper thin. They were pretty noisy for two teenagers and their mom(I'm assuming). I do not do Roaches and I killed 3 big ones while I was there. One came in through the front door somehow and the other two were discovered in my room. The first one I saw in my room on the nightstand. I wasn't going to be able to sleep comfortably knowing that it was in there and could crawl on me in my sleep. I tried to killing it unsuccessfully my first try. I went to the living area and my friend and I were talking about the two roaches that we had discovered thus far. We were cracking jokes but serious at the same time, because we don't do roaches nor spiders. Especially big flying tree roaches. I came back into the room later and discovered the roach crawling on the floor. I was thankful that he reappeared because I killed him with a shoe at that time. My worries were gone at that point and I could sleep peaceful knowing that there was not a roach that I knew of in my room that could attack(LOL) me at any time. I discovered the other one hiding under my friends bags. I killed it on contact. I know that it is located in a wooded area but the place needs to be sealed up better to prevent critters from coming in. The pictures that they have online must be of the Presidential suites because the pictures definitely aren't of the cabin I was in. The cabins need to be upgraded badly and they need to have more room inside of them as well as better walls, so you don't hear everything. The furniture needs to be thoroughly cleaned after each guest especially the ones with pets. No one wants to see pet hair everywhere. Whoever cleaned this cabin needs to do better. The office area was nicely decorated and smelled so nice.

Piney Shores was the lodging location for my best friends wedding this past weekend. The resort was in a beautiful location, right on the lake and a lot of nature to enjoy. There were a lot of people in our group staying in various cabins and some in the lake houses. Most people in our group took an Uber from the airport not realizing that it’s not a very walkable property. Carrying luggage all the way to your cabin from the front office in the heat. No transportation options once you arrive. The front desk did not provide the best information on navigating the property and the map is confusing. When it’s dark outside, it’s very difficult to see the signs and figure out where you’re supposed to be going to get to your cabin. The front desk staff member informed us that there was nowhere on property to grab anything to eat. She stated we were better off getting an Uber down the road for food. However, there was a grill on site right around the corner? The grill staff were very nice, we were grateful that we didn’t have to get two Ubers into town to eat.The pool does not have any towels, you have to bring the towel from your room to the pool. Please be sure to bring a car with you, if you’re flying in it’s worth the money to rent a car vs. Uber because of how spread out everything is.

Was a little disappointed. Rooms weren't up to normal holiday inn club standards. Requested a room to celebrate the birthday of someone special. Received a room with paint pealing in the tub and on the cabinets. Furniture was newer but the condo itself was tired and in need of a refresh. Most of the staff was happy, bubbly and willing to please. Except the the cranky worker that closed the pools at night. Didn't really appreciate the bellow of "hurry up I have three more pools to close tonight" as he impatiently waited at the pool entrance for four of us to gather our belongings, especially since we were already in the process of doing so anyway.Edit to respond to owners response: Wow, just WOW!! Owner assumes that we enjoyed peeling paint, tired rooms and rude staff. Decreased to a 1 star. Would go 0 if I could.Nearby activities: Boat launch and slip onsite as well as stables and horseback riding.Noteworthy details: Has 4 pools, 3 outdoor, 1 covered. No shade at any pool. Indoor pool was like a sauna. Recommend more than 4 umbrella total at all 4 pools.

Huge campus with a variety of different lodging options. Two large pools. Great service, but overly busy and the snack area is small. Perfect shopping and restaurants close by (7 miles) off main strip. The Fall or early Spring would be a perfect time to visit.Rooms: Only rooms available were at the very back, on grounds. Rustic/ country decor but the best air conditioning.Food & drinks: The refill mug option is the way to get a quick drink from Coke machine with over 20 options of flavors.

Places had a lot of bad reviews in the past but I think they have tried to turn it around. And they are doing a good job. Our condo was very reasonably priced. We were able to get it right next to another group of friends we were visiting with. Lots of activities. Staff very helpful.

We only stayed 1 night on 6/24/23 and we got locked out of our room due to the card reader for the back door not having been checked before we checked in. We had the night locks engaged on both of the front doors and the B unit because we were going to go to bed and we went out the back door to look at the sunset. We ended up being locked out of our room in 105 degree temps for about 2 hours while maintenance had to get approval to break the lock on one of the front doors. I understand that things get overlooked but I was never contacted by any management regarding this after the maintenance person had to get management approval to break in our door. It really feels like they don't care about customer service at all.

I've been an owner since 1988, and the cabins needs do much work and updates, activities are great, but the cabins in the back need some TLC, they're not being clean that well either. We pay our dues yearly and on time, which is expensive for what we get. Please improve the cabins. Thank you..

The facility is very nice with a lot of fun activities available on property, but there needs to be more attention to guest behavior and how it affects the experience for others. I was here for a wedding last weekend and another family which seemed to be staying there for a reunion was having a VERY long, loud, drunken argument on the first floor of the building we were in around 11:30 at night. They were so loud it was easy to hear every word they said from our rooms on the third floor. I tried to call the main desk multiple times to make a noise complaint and no one answered the phone. Lost about an hour of sleep thanks to all of that, not to mention that it's just very unpleasant to listen to other people airing their dirty laundry

The reason I gave a bad review is due to the fact one of the rooms in the suite we were staying in the bed had bed bugs. Upon first entry there was a musty smell as if it hadn't been cleaned as well as the appearance. I let that go due to the fact we are surrounded by woods maybe the dead bugs just came with the territory. As for the bed bug infestation thank goodness I personally do a check. This being the first time I've actually found them where I was staying I was in shocked to say the least considering this is a resort. I would think above anywhere else this would be throughly checked regularly. I took photos and video. Upon bringing it to the attention of the staff I was a bit taken back by the fact they didnt seem to take it all that serious. I very privately alerted staff to the issue one that I would think should be top priority they didnt apperar very concerned with told me to call the manager when they came in that afternoon and simply asked if we wanted our belongings laundered as if this was a regular complaint. I immediately said no thati wouls do them myself. Fastfoward to speaking to the manager thinking there would be a bit more concern I quickly found there was not. She even went as far as to claim they chevked them and it was only ants and claimed there are woods around it happens. I promptly told her it was not ants. But to no avail nothing was solved. I never asked nor was the offer ever given but seems the resort would have offered a room comp or money back but nothing not even an apology for the inconvenience of it all.DO BETTER NEXT TIME PINEY SHORES...DO BETTER IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!
